It took some time after the breakup between Camila and Matthew for her to get back in the realm of dating. Not that she had to try as much because her and Shawn had already confessed their love for one another.
He had promised that he would wait. After all, he has been waiting for three years and he was willing to wait for forever. Heck, he had songs written solely on that touching subject.
He meant what he said when he said he loves her and that he would wait as long as she needed.

There was a night.
This was the night that Camila decided that she could not take it anymore. She wanted Shawn and she no longer had a care for what had happened a month ago, to be exact. All she cared about was Shawn and her love for him. Tonight, she was going to confirm that.
The two were hanging out two nights after the Grammy awards which unapologetically, they had won an award. Their love for each other had only gotten stronger, day by day. Camila knew from that night, he wasn't going anywhere and there was no reason to dread over something that wasn't nearly worth as much as the love she had for Shawn.
"I love you." She blurted out, cutting Shawn off from his rambles about Harry Potter. She felt stupid because he already knew that. He chuckled, wrapping his arms around her, "I know...I love you too." He kissed her cheek but Camila shook her head, "no. Like...I'm ready."
Shawn's heart never leapt so fast and he's never felt lighter in his life. He was so in love with her. His grin was ear-to-ear and his eyes twinkled twice as bright.
He's been waiting for her to say that for so long and now was finally the time. There were no regrets, no pain, no sadness, just love. Pure love. The love where it could only be felt with this one person and no matter how hard either of them could try to deny it, their love was untouchable.
Shawn cupped her face, leaning in and finally smashing his lips onto hers. Every fear he had of expressing his love, every doubt she had of ruining their friendship was gone. It was just the two of them in their own little world, feeling nothing but love.
They pulled away, breathless. Yet Shawn still didn't get the memo, "so that makes you my..." he tilted his head, wanting her to finish the sentence. "Girlfriend. I'm your girlfriend, Shawn." She giggled at his behaviour. That's all the confirmation Shawn needed to capture her lips in yet another, searing kiss.

The couple couldn't be happier. Even after a year, their relationship was full of firsts and surprises and that's all they could ever ask for.
There was a party that one of Shawn and Camila's friends were throwing. It was Taylor's treat. A celebration for her upcoming album that had just been released. The party that was supposedly supposed to be the most fun was held in a venue that was rented out.
