"You are forever and always the hero of my heart, the love of my life."
————————————————————————

He watched her. How beautiful she was even when asleep. Her long, curly hair, fanned out across the pillow. One under her head and one hugged close to her chest. The sun bounced off her face, illuminating it. Her tear stained face was clear to the Canadian. He hated that she cried, clearly herself to sleep.

He had just gotten back from tour. His last leg of the tour was finished and the first thing he wanted to do was see her. He wanted it to be a surprise. Her mother had helped him, making sure she was still asleep by the time he was there.

He knelt down to her level, admiring her face. He was so deeply and truly in love with her. He brushed his long fingers across her cheek, causing her to stir slightly. She groaned causing him to chuckle, breathily as if he was holding a breath he didn't know he was holding at all. Her eyes fluttered open but shut again. She assumed it was her mother just trying to get her out of her sad and lazy state. It's been like this ever since he left for his last leg of tour.

"Baby," he whispered in her ear, tucking a strand of hair that had fallen across her face. She recognized that voice. She always could, no matter how long it's been since she's heard his voice, calling him couldn't compare. Her eyes shot open and she immediately tackled him to the ground. Earning an 'oof' from him.

"Oh my god, what are you doing here?" She cried into his neck. He laughed. God, that laugh. It sent her places, "I told you, tour's finished," he muttered, stroking her back, "yeah but you weren't supposed to be here till next week," she let go and grabbed his face, bringing it close to hers. "Is it a problem that I'm here?" He raised an eyebrow, playfully, "no of course not." There was a long, comfortable, pause. Their eyes never coming off each other. It was like a magnet, their faces were drawn closer together and their lips attached. Passionately.

"Want breakfast?" She asked, getting up from the ground. "Yeah, there's a diner that I found on my way here that I want to take you to," he held her hand, tightly. "Okay, just let me get dressed," she pecked his lips before disappearing, "Okay," he whispered.

She was breathtaking. A white t-shirt and jeans that hugged her curves with light makeup and her hair down, "what?" She hugged herself, slightly embarrassed that he was staring at her so intensely, "you're just...wow," he walked towards her, hugging her and placing kisses all over her face and neck, "okay, okay! I'm hungry," she jokingly pushed him away. Dragging him out to his car.

"I love this song!" She turned it up, playfully singing. Even not trying, she sounded amazing. "Kiss me like you wanna be loved!" She screamed, sticking her head out the window. With one hand on her shoulder and one on the wheel, he pulled her in, "you're crazy!" He squeezed her thigh, looking at her for only a second, "you love me, though!" She cooed, squeezing the hand that was on her thigh.

"Thank you for breakfast," she hugged his waist as they walked out of the diner, hand in hand, walking down the not-so-busy streets, thank god for that. "Of course, love." Her heart beat rapidly at the pet name. She stopped walking, causing Shawn to stop walking. He was shocked, slightly. "What's wrong, love?"

He was so caring. He'd never let anything or anyone hurt her. She could count on that for sure. "Nothing," she whispered, snuggling her head on his chest. She felt safe in his arms, "I just-" she tried to get some words out but sighed, not being able to continue. "Hey, it's okay, you can tell me anything," he reassured, rubbing her back, slowly. "I know we always said we loved each other but that was a friendly encounter. I just, i-I love you. Like actual love, like I want to be with you forever love," she felt a tear roll down her cheek but was brushed away by Shawn's thumb.

"Camila, you don't know how long I've been wanting to say that to you," his smile grew wide, "I love you and I want a forever with you too," he rubbed her neck now, distracting her. They leaned in, kissing. Their kisses were always full of love and passion but this time, it was out in the open. Their love was out there, to each other, for just them to share.

They pulled away from what felt like forever, "I promise you a forever, Camila Cabello."
"I promise you a forever, Shawn Mendes."

It honestly wasn't supposed to be like this but I liked this better than what I had originally planned.
