Would you call her heartless? No. It wasn't like she was rude to others but she just simply didn't care. Not anymore, anyways.

How could someone go from the happiest, most positive human to the saddest, most negative human? It was bizarre to Camila but this was her. The new her. It has been for years.

It's true that traumatic events really can change your perspective on things but it's not who you are but Camila just didn't seem to get the memo. She didn't love anyone. She didn't have to, her family was gone. She had a friend, Taylor. Her friend understood that she wasn't an open person anymore.

You'd think that having everyone in your family get shot in front of you and also surviving whilst a bullet is lodged into your shoulder would at least somehow make you stronger but instead, it made Camila question her life.

The bar, it was local and small. She knew the bartender/owner. He was nice, too nice for Camila though. "Let me guess, a beer?" Justin, the sweetest man alive asked from the other side of the bar. "You got it," Camila chuckled, noted it was fake. "There's a guy checking you out over there," Justin whispered, sliding the glass towards the Cuban.

She couldn't help but scoff and roll her eyes, turning around slightly to get a better look of who this man was. No man ever looked at her or ever 'checked' her out. Not that Camila cared. She preferred to be left alone like that.

She'll admit, he was cute - really freaking cute but he wasn't for her. She couldn't be with him. She'd hurt him.

She felt someone's presence take a seat beside her but she paid no attention to whoever it was that stupidly chose to sit next to her. "I'm Shawn," he dragged her out of her very deep thoughts which Camila found very surprising considering that it takes her own friend so long to grab her attention. Camila eyed the man for a second. She chuckled. It wasn't like a happy chuckle, more of a 'what the fuck do you see in me to actually talk to me?' chuckle.

"Camila," she muttered, taking another sip of her beer that she oh so loved. Camila wasn't a fan of small talk so she ignored him, "Justin, bill please," the blonde bartender walked up to her, smiling with the bill reached out to her but was stopped by this so called, Shawn. "What are you doing?" Camila crossed her arms before outstretching them to get the bill back, "I'm paying for you, is what I'm doing." He laughed, smirking at the beautiful women that couldn't quite grab the bill from him. She was too late, he had already paid.

One thing led to another and she didn't even leave the bar, she ended up speaking to him about everything and anything. It felt so easy but Camila felt weird, not a bad weird. But, she wasn't one to open up to anyone.

The next two months were crazy, soon enough the two were best friends and Camila was happy. Although, some nights were different. Some nights they'd go to one of their homes and drink a shit ton of wine and end up sleeping with each other. It wasn't weird to them. It was safe to say that they were friends with benefits but it was obvious to anyone with eyes that they had feelings for each other.

Another month passed and Shawn had just announced that he met someone, a girl. She was described as a perky, positive, blonde that modelled. Camila felt so hurt but she couldn't show it. He didn't feel what she felt for him and she had to deal with that.

"Well, at least you'll have someone to drink with on the weekends and fuck!" Camila tried to joke with him but his face dropped.

Nice fucking going Camila. "What's wrong?" She reassured him by squeezing his shoulder, "I don't want this to end, Mila."

"Shawn, we can't sleep with each other when you have a girlfriend. That's not quite how it works, we can still be friends." She wanted to cry, badly. She wanted him to leave so that she could just break down.

Another two months passed and Camila was finally going to meet this girl that was named Hailey, the girl that captured Shawn's heart.

Yes, Camila was extremely jealous. She was fucking pretty and she was a positive girl. The complete opposite of Camila. Shawn had left the two to pick up their food that they had ordered from a takeout place down the street.

Camila thought that things between Hailey and her were good but apparently that wasn't the case. "Listen, Camila." Hailey crossed her arms, she didn't seem so sweet now, "no offence but I really don't need you in the way of my relationship with Shawn. So, I'd appreciate it if you backed off and found someone else to console you."

Damn, is that what it seemed like? Shawn was just someone she could go to for a good cry. That wasn't true but Camila seriously didn't want issues with this Hailey girl, especially if she made Shawn happy.

"I'm back!" Shawn ran into the house, excitedly with the food, pecking Hailey's lips with his which honestly made Camila want to gag. Hailey quickly glared at Camila, "umm...listen, I'm so sorry but I have to go. Something came up." Shawn's face dropped, he didn't seem to happy anymore. "Great!" Hailey smiled before Shawn glared at her, "I-I mean, why?" Hailey pouted causing Camila to roll her eyes. "Yeah, you should stay," Shawn gripped her wrist, softly but Camila immediately took it back, "I have to go."

Shawn
Why'd you have to go?

Camila
Something came up. Sorry.

Camila
At least I met her. She seems great. I'm happy for you, really.

Shawn
What's up with you, seriously. I know you wouldn't just leave. Especially not when I brought your favourite food home.

Camila
I think we should stop talking to each other.

Shawn
What the fuck?

Camila
I'm sorry but I don't want Hailey to feel like I'm a threat.

Shawn
Why the fuck would she care?

Camila
Goodbye, Shawn.

There will be a part two! It's already finished so I'm probably gonna post it tonight.

I have like 4 drafts that I can post but I've been having writers block but I'm definitely going to try out some new ideas. I really like the texting portions that I do but I don't want that in every story. :)) have a great day, stay very safe xxx.
