Chapter 31 The Beast Within

(So I don't know if you notice this, but characters that only are in one episode in the TV show just stay the same gender unless important)
Y/N's pov

  "You punks!" The guy in red armor said cracking his knuckles "Really think you can take down Adonis? Bring it on!"
"Oh it is so brunged!" BG yelled "Branged!"
"Bad grammar." Rave sighed "That'll really show him."
  I ignored all this guys smart talking as we fought him. I watched Robyn and Bolt both be thrown off before Rave and I attacked. Adonis broke out of Rave's magic throwing him back before tackling me.
  "Get off of me!" I growled "Now!"
  "Oh." Adonis smirked "You're feisty."
I struggled under him til magic pulled him off. I threw fire balls at him before running to help Bolt off the ground. I watched Adonis knock the others to the floor before Beast Girl and him started to fight. BG rammed his body into a tank of chemicals, knocking Adonis out in her bear form. I stood frozen as BG loomed over Adonis covered in green chemicals.
"Umm.." I muttered "Nice Beast Girl."
  "Yeah." Rave said "Have any good freak outs lately?"
  "No." She growled "I just got tired of being pushed around."
  I raised an eyebrow before watching her walk out of the building. That wasn't normal of her. I shrugged my shoulders before waiting for the police so we could head home.
The next morning I was sitting at the counter eating some breakfast as Robyn finished cooking hers. BG walked in and devoured the ham and eggs Robyn had just made.
"Beast Girl." Robyn spoke in shock "That was ham and eggs?"
  "Yeah." I said "You're a vegetarian, correct?"
  "Not anymore." She smirked "Ever since I kicked Adonis's ass I feel more powerful and I won't get stronger eating tofu."
  I watched her get up and leave the room smiling. Robyn and I both looked at each other in a loss of words. Sighing I decided to help Robyn make her breakfast again before heading upstairs.
Later that night I couldn't sleep and didn't want to bug Rave, so I went into the weight room to work with the punching bag. I noticed BG in there lifting weights and smiled over at her.
"Hey.." She paused her lifting "Why are you in here?"
"I couldn't sleep." I said punching the bag "So I decided to work on my arm strength."
"Well I'm in here." She growled "So scram."
"Beast Girl I ca-"
"I said go!" She yelled "Now!"
I rolled my eyes before nodding and heading back to my room. She had never yelled at me like that before, what was her deal lately. First her eating meat, then this tv show issue with Bolt yesterday, now this. I sighed turning on my tv in my room, something was just off.
  "Can we go to the bookstore in a few days." I said looking up at Rave as he was reading and walking "I'm running low on new material."
  "I guess." He said "Or you could just borrow some of- Sorry."
  I turned to see that Beast Girl was in the hall and Rave had accidentally hit her. I stood closer to Rave, curious how BG would react to the accidental bump.
  "You better be." She hissed "Watch it next time!"
"On second thought I'm not sorry." Rave said grabbing my hand "And stop being a ass. This tough girl act you've been putting on is getting annoying."
  "You know what Rave!" BG growled pointing her finger at him "I've been a really nice person for a long time. I've put up with your insults and you pushing me around. I'm done with it! Consider this a warning."
"Is this the part where I'm supposed to be intimidated?" Rave sighed "Can-"
"No!" BG hissed "This is!"
My eyes widened as BG turned into a gorilla and banged her fists against her chest. Rave pushed me behind him, magic starting to form in his hands. I looked up at my boyfriend to see anger in his eyes.
"Beast Girl!" A voice yelled from behind her "Stop it!"
  "What's gotten into you girl?" Cy said "You haven't been acting right?"
"I don't care if you threaten me!" Rave growled as BG transformed back to normal "But don't you ever think about doing it to her!"
Rave held my hand tightly as he led me to his room. The others, well mostly Robyn, talking to Beast Girl.
"I should of told you this sooner.." I muttered "But I went to the weight room last night and Beast Girl was there. She was angry."
"She" Rave stopped to look me over "Didn't hurt you right?"
"No." I gulped "Just scared me from yelling. I'm okay, it's just she hasn't been acting the same since our fight with Adonis."
  Rave just nodded his head before opening his door. I let of go his hand and ran towards his bed, jumping onto it causing Rave to roll his eyes. I giggled, pulling him down into my arms and hugging him close. He sighed then smiled kissing my head before sitting up with me in his arms. Pulling out his book he started to read again with me curled up against his chest. I pulled out my communicator and picked back up on the book I had been slowly reading.
I had been snuggled up against Rave for a few hours when I remembered something. I sat up slowly earning an eyebrow raise from Rave. I giggled kissing his cheek.
"I just remember." I spoke looking up into his amethyst eyes "I promised Bolt we'd have a sleep over in his room. I'd better be heading over there."
"Mhm, okay." He sighed cupping my cheek and leaning down for a kiss "Enjoy yourself."
I nodded my head before leaning up and capturing his lip. The kiss was brief but many feelings were mixed into it. I smiled up at Rave, pecking his cheek before leaving to Bolt's room.
  "Friend Y/N!" Bolt smiled opening his door "I was the wondering when you would arrive."
  I smiled up at my best friend as he pulled me in for a hug before letting me into his room. I looked around to see a bowl of popcorn, chocolates, candy, and comedy movies waiting on the bed.
  "I hope you do not mind." He said "If we watch the comedy tonight?"
  "Not at all." I giggled "Lets get started!"
It was late at night and Bolt and I were in the the middle of our second movie when a scream filled the air. I jumped up, knocking over the bowl of popcorn and sprinting to Rave's room.
  "Rave!" I yelled "Where is he?"
  "He's not in his room." Cy said "We need to check Beast Girl's."
  I ran past everyone, my heart beating fast and pushed up BG's door. I froze looking at the torn up bedding, scratched up walls, and broken decorations.
"Look the window!" I pointed as the others walked in frozen "There's claw marks going down the tower! What happened?"
  I clung onto the back of Robyn as she drove her motorcycle. Bolt was checking from the sky as Cy took the other side of the city.
  "Guys I have found something." Bolt said through the communicator "Something with claws."
"Track it Bolt." Robyn ordered "We'll be there soon."
  Robyn shifted lanes and did a hard turn next to an alleyway. She stopped when we both saw a dark blue fabric caught in a iron fence. I jumped off the bike and grabbed it.
  "Rave.." I muttered "It's his Robyn."
  "We'll find him." She said "Let's go."
I nodded my head before climbing back on the bed. I clenched my fist tightly around the fabric as I held onto Robyn. We drove to a man hole where the others were waiting after Cy said she had found Rave's coordinates.
"Guys!" Cy said getting out of the T-Car "He was here just a second ago."
"No he's down there." Robyn said looking at her communicator "Let's go Titans!"
  "Rave stopped." Cy said as we jumped into the sewer "He's close by. This way."
  I followed behind the others using my flames to give light. Please be okay. The others stopped and I saw rave's tracking device, the gem that kept his cloak connected. I ran past the others grabbing it and holding it close to me. A howl echoed through the tunnels.
"Titans!" Robyn ordered "Split up!"
  I nodded my head before running off in the opposite direction of the others. I ran into a dead end with a vent and kicked it into a new tunnel. I used my flames to light my way as I walked through the dirty water that went to my ankles. One hand controlling the flame as the other held tightly to Rave's tracker.
  "Guys." Cy spoke through her communicator "You're gonna want to see this!"
  I looked down at my communicator to see Cy's location and ran in that direction. Once I caught up with the others Cy held up BG's belt and pointed at the smashed in wall. We all walked through and started to look around again. Grunts were heard from the direction we were heading in. Cy slowly shined her light at the end wall and a creature slowly turned. I gasped seeing the beast holding Rave in it's teeth.
The creature laid him down before running to attack us. I growled throwing a fire ball at him before dashing over to Rave. I put my hand against his chest and sighed in relief feeling his heart beat. I looked up to see the others being knocked back by the creature.
I stood up and ran over to them throwing fire balls at it. It turned growling at me before all four of us attacked causing the beast to fall into the sewer water. Once the smoke cleared we all gasped as BG slowly sat up.
"W-What happened?" She asked staring up at us "Why are you all looking at me like that?"
  Bolt went over to help BG as Cy picked up Rave and we headed out of the sewer. We all ignored Beast Girl's questions as we got Rave in the T-Car. I laid his head on my lap in the back seat as BG sat in front with Cy. Robyn took her motorcycle back home as Bolt flew. I sighed looking down at Rave's unconscious face, running my fingers through his hair.
"He's stable." Cy said after we got to the med bay "For now."
"He's healing himself." I muttered staring at my boyfriend "I don't know for how long though."
"Wait.." BG spoke in confusion "I did that? I hurt him? I wouldn't do that!"
"We found him with you!" I growled "He was in your teeth!"
  "That's a lie!"She yelled "I wouldn't do that!"
"I'm going to ask you to keep your voice down." Robyn said in her demanding voice "Yelling isn't going to help any of us."
"I'm picking up traces of recombinant DNA." Cy spoke typing on the computer "It's not human."
"Do you think it was the chemicals?" Bolt asked "From the fight with the Adonis?"
  "Because of the shapeshifting her genetic code  has always been unstable." Cy said as I held onto Rave's hand "Maybe its just falling apart."
  "Rave. He's going to be okay right? He's not moving." BG spoke sadly turning to look over at us "You know I'd never mean to do this Y/N."
"Beast Girl." Robyn spoke bring BG's attention back to her "You need to tell me what happened."
"I already told you!" She said grabbing her hair "I don't remember! We had that argument, I went to my room, then nothing! A claw. A scream. Nothing!"
  "A claw and a scream isn't nothing!" Robyn growled "If you can't tell me what happened I'll have to assume the worse. I'll have to put you in jail! What happened?"
  "I already told you!" She yelled gripping her head "I don't know!"
I stood up quickly once she growled and her body started to change into her beast form. I stood in front of Rave as she ran in our direction. I hissed throwing a fire ball at BG causing her to take a step back. Robyn and the others attacked also before I was pushed back and BG sniffled Rave. I covered my hands in flames and pushed against her causing her to move before Cy shot her threw the wall. We watched as she ran down the hall and out the window.
"You two!" Robyn yelled "Stay here in case she comes back! Cy Let's go!"
  I watched the two girls run out of the room before walking back towards Rave. I sighed leaning down and kissing his head. Bolt headed over to me and placed a hand on my shoulder.
  "He will be fine friend Y/N." He said giving me a weak smile "I know he will."
  "Thanks Bolt." I muttered hugging my best friend "I just hope everything works out."
I sat back down next to Rave as Bolt turned to look at the computer. I grabbed his hand once more and turned to look out the window. I jumped up when I heard a gasp and a hand tighten around mine. I turned to see Rave sitting up before I tackled him in a hug. He pulled me close to him as he looked up at Bolt.
  "Beast Girl." He said "Where is she?"
  "You're safe." Bolt smiled "She can't hurt you."
  "Hurt me?" Rave answered giving us a confused look "She saved me. There's another one of those creatures that attacked me. Beast Girl saved me from it."
I curled up deeper into Rave's arms, just happy he was okay. Rave looked down at me, kissing my forehead before I pulled back. I pulled out my communicator and called Robyn.
"Robyn! Rave just woke up!" I said "There's another one of those beasts. That's what attacked Rave, not BG. Be carful."
"BG just won against him." Robyn spoke "It was Adonis. We'll be home soon."
"Okay." I answered "See you three soon."
I was pulled back into Rave's arms, neither of us caring that Bolt was watching us with Star's in his eyes. I buried my head into his shoulder and just smiled, happy everything was alright.
