Chapter 41 Prophcey

Y/N's pov

"Freeze. Rewind!" Robyn said, I sighed looking at BG as she rewinds the clip once more "there!"
  "Robyn you've been doing this nonstop." I muttered annoyed "If you haven't seen anything in the first hundred rewinds, I doubt you'll see anything in the next."
  "Y/N has a point." BG spoke before letting out a yawn "You'll drive yourself crazy again."
"Hey Cy." I said seeing the half robot walk in "Got anything new for us?"
"I cross referenced that symbol over everything on the planet." She grumbled pinching the bridge of her nose "Nothing! Whatever this is, it isn't from earth."
  "Coming back, new powers, targeting Rave." Robyn said "It's a whole new game then before. Y/N go see if Rave found anything on the symbol."
  "Will do." I spoke standing up "But is it just me or has he been acting off? He seems to be hiding something, even from me."
  "We'll figure it out." Cy patter my shoulder, giving me a weak smile "We always do."
I nodded my head, my frown still glued to my face. I sighed to myself as I walked up the stairs. It's been two days since Slade came back, and Rave was acting off. He kept himself locked in his room and wouldn't let me in anymore. It scared me, was I losing him?
"R-Rave?" I called knocking on his door, I waited a few seconds before it slid open "Robyn wanted to know if you found anything? You alright?"
"I'm okay." He sighed, his eyes wouldn't meet mine "Just haven't been able to mediate lately. None of my books has information on the symbol. Are you okay Y/N?"
  "Y-yeah.." I muttered "Look you know-"
  The alarms cut me off, I quickly grabbed my communicator and switched it on. My face paled when I saw the orange and black S.
  "It's Slade." I was already running towards the living room "Let's go!"
"Vandalism." Robyn said as Cy shot Slade's arm "That's a new low, even for you."
"Well if it isn't the Teen Titans." She spoke "I'd love to chat but as you can see, I'm very busy. I'll deal with you after."
  "No!" Our leader spat "You'll deal with us now!"
  Slade sighed before throwing her hands to the ground as the concrete under us broke and fire spurt from the cracks. Everyone moved out of the way as I used my powers to boost me up and push myself out of the fire in a front flip sort of style.
"You should never play with fire." Slade spoke "You know what they say, you'll get burned."
"Seriously you too!" I growled annoyed throwing fire balls at her "Did Robyn get her crappy threats from you when she was your apprentice. I swear, both of you need some new material."
"As lovely as this talk is." Slade said "I must really be talking to your lover now."
I growled at her before running towards the masked women and dodging her attacks. I slammed my fist against her face only for her to be unfazed. Fire hit me from under, sending me crashing into the nearest building.
"Y/N!" Rave yelled "You alright?"
  I nodded my head as he helped me up. He ran his hands over my sides looking for injuries, the mixture of fear and worry in his eyes scared me. I pushed him out of the way as a torpedo of fire came from behind him, slamming me once again into the building. I felt my world go dark.
"Y/N!" Robyn called, my head spinning "Do you read me?"
"She's okay!" Rave spoke into his communicator as his free arm wrapped around me "You're alright."
"Ouch.." I muttered "My head hurts like hell."
"Friends!" Bolt spoke through the communicator "I see something, something disturbing. Slade has burned the symbol into the ground."
Rave helped me up, keeping his arm around my waist as we went to regroup with the rest of the team. I leaned my head against Rave's shoulder as the six of us stood in front of a library.
  "Everything in a three block radius has been destroyed." Robyn said "Except for this. Slade left it here for a reason."
"Friend Y/N?" Bolt questioned "Are you okay?"
"I will be." I smiled weakly "Let's just figure this out."
  "According to the towns master plan, this is the original library." Cy said looking at the computer on her arm "But it's been abandoned for decades."
  I raised an eyebrow as Beast Girl walked closer towards one of the pillars, she touched it and it crumbled destroying the front of the building revealing-
"The mark of Scath." Robyn spoke, I felt Rave freeze against me, his arm tightening around me "Slade told me." 
  "We shouldn't go in." I caught the worry in Rave's voice "I could be a trap."
  "It's our only lead." Robyn nodded towards Bolt "Open it."
  I looked up at Rave in concern, his eyes turning away from me. I sighed pulling out of his arms and limping over towards Bolt. I couldn't be held by him if he was too scared to look me in the eyes.. It worried me a lot more then earlier.
  Once in the library we reached a dead end until a photo flew off the wall. It revealed the same symbol as earlier, the mark of Scath. It slid open and I turned to the others before lighting my hand and slowly limping down the stairs. Bolt ran after me wrapping his arm around me to help me walk. Once we reached the bottom of the stairs I looked around at the skeleton statues.
"I did not realize." Bolt started "That your libraries held such unpleasant sculptures."
"They don't. This part of the building is old." Cy said "Like old old, before the city was built."
  BG and Bolt jumped as transparent versions of the statues flew out and started to chant.
"The gem was born of evil's fire. The gem shall be her portal. She comes to claim" The spirts spoke "She comes to sire. The end of all things mortal."
The ghosts like skeletons faded back into the statues. I turned noticing Rave's scared look before he ran up the stairs. Pulling out of Bolt's arms I pushed myself to run on my injured leg.
"Rave!" I yelled leaning against the wall once he stopped "What's wrong?"
"Everything!" He said in a voice mixture with worry and fear "I shouldn't be here!"
"R-Rave.. Love.." I muttered "You need to tell me what's going on."
"I can't I'm sorry!" I froze as his magic started to faze him through the wall "I can't go back in there Y/N!"
I let out a cry of frustration before forcing myself down the stairs. I felt a tear run down my cheek in anger.
"Friend Y/N?" Bolt asked "Where is friend Rave?"
  "He's not coming!" I growled "This gem will allow Scath through, we need to find it! Let's go!"
Once past the straight downwards slope of stairs, I sighed noticing a long spiral of them. I ignored the others as they tried to figure out how far down they went and started walking. I wasn't in the mood to see BG cough up a loogie.
  "Y/N wait up! We should go as a team." Robyn called, I stopped allowing the others to catch up "The gem must be down here."
  "Yeah.." Cy muttered "But what else."
  After a few more minutes of walking I couldn't take the pain in my leg. I leaned against the wall as tears threaten to spill out, my anger had made me forget about the pain for a while but it was back.
  "Friend Y/N." Bolt said walking over to me  "Allow me to give you what you humans call a piggy back ride."
I nodded my head, I was in enough pain. I didn't feel the need to argue with him. He lifted me up as I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and he started to walk again.
I wonder where Rave had gone. The distress in his voice had me concerned, hell he couldn't even look me in the eyes anymore. It hurt me to think that he was involved or connected to why Slade was back. But how?
"Looks like we have company!" Robyn's voice broke me out of my thoughts "Get ready to fight!" I watched her swing at one of them, her fist flying through it "Damnit I can't hit them!"
  "But they can hit us!" Cy yelled stopping her self from falling off the edge "Bolt watch out!"
  I blasted the spirt that was coming up from behind us before the two of us started to aim at the spirts. They had us pinned towards the edge before Robyn yelled to follow her. I watched as she jumped down before Bolt and I followed, Cy and BG close behind. The spirts followed as we fell, dodging them we saw the symbol of Scath on a nearby wall. Robyn shot at it as BG went to grab Cy.
  "Another passage!" Our leader yelled "This way!"
  We followed her through the opening in the wall as the spirts followed close behind. Robyn threw one of her disk bombs towards the ground, destroying the deadly spirts. We arrived in a room with three paths.
  "That one!" Robyn pointed "Follow the symbol!"
The sound of the spirts filled our ears as we ran down the path. Robyn started to dodge and fight them as I shot from Bolt's back.
"There's no symbol!" BG cried "What do we do!"
"Pick one!" I yelled "Now!"
Bolt turned around so both of us could fight, Cy joined in as BG screamed. I turned my head to see more ghosts coming out of the tunnel she had picked. I looked up at the markings on the paths and noticed the raven.
  "The one in the middle!" I called towards the others "Let's go!"
The tunnel closed off from behind us, stopping the spirts as we ran. Light could be seen at the end of the path opening up into a huge room. Statues of people in cloaks surrounded a giant hand with a light shining down in its center. Bolt placed me down next to Cy who I leaned against as he flew towards the statues.
"These statues.." I muttered "They look like Rave.."
"Come on!" Robyn demanded "The gem must be in that hand."
  I pushed away Cy's help and forced myself to run on my hurt leg. I followed close behind the others towards the palm of the stone hand. The light in the center of it was empty.
  "The gem!" Robyn yelled "It's missing."
  "You must be disappointed." A voice spoke, we looked up to see Slade leaning against one of the fingers "Coming all this way for nothing."
  "The gem!" Robyn repeated in anger "Where is it?"
  "Not here." Slade spoke before jumping down towards us "But closer to you then you think!"
  She aimed another fire torpedo in our direction just like earlier. I hissed in pain as I moved out of the way, placing all my weight on my bad leg. Slade knocked BG and Cy off of the hand as they tried to attack. Bolt lifted me up on his back as we both stared to attack, Robyn dodged Slade's oncoming blasts of fire.
Bolt and I both aimed at her watching the mixture of green light and fire swirl around, it knocked Slade against one of the stone fingers. She shot a blast of fire at us knocking me off of Bolt as he hit the ground. I grunted slowly standing up before falling again. Ropes of fire wrapped around my friends before Slade lifted me up by my neck, holding my feet above the ground. I scratched at her hand, struggling to breath.
"It hurts doesn't it." She chuckled as my friends yelled in agony, I hissed trying to get her off of me before she started to squeeze my neck "Don't worry, this won't hurt a bit."
"Wanna bet!" A voice growled before a slab of rock knocked Slade into a wall, I fell down onto my knees "I told you to leave them out of this!"
  "How sweet." Slade spoke, not being faze by the attack "You've come to save your friends. But you're only delaying their pain and yours."
  "Are you going to attack." Rave spat, his eyes never leaving Slade's "Or were you demanded not to? Did she tell you to keep her gem safe?"
  "Wait?" I hear Cy say "Rave has the gem?"
  "No.." I spoke as Bolt helped me up, I looked at the red markings covering Rave "He is the gem.."
"I have a message for you this time." Rave growled, he started to throw Slade against different walls "Tell her, she'll have to destroy me before I help!"
  "You can tell her yourself." Slade spoke from the ground, one of her arms bracing the other "The hour is near."
  Rave lifted a piece of wall up before slamming it against Slade. His eyes glowing white as he lifted her up again with magic and threw her against a wall. Rocks came flying together before crushing Slade. Her body was then thrown against the ground as a magical raven came out of Rave and caused an explosion around Slade. The statue she stood by was destroyed as her body fell from the center of it.
  "I'm not afraid of you!" Rave yelled "Not anymore!"
  "You may not be afraid of me." Slade spoke as she fazed through the wall "But look who fears you." 
  Rave turned to us before his eyes widened in worry. I looked up at him in concern as he ran in my direction. Arms wrapped tightly around me, pulling me into a protective hug. Rave didn't speak a word as one of his hands gripped my hair, holding me against his chest.
  No words were spoken from anyone on the way home. Rave carried me in his arms, refusing to let me walk on my leg. Once back at the tower he stayed silent as he worked on healing me, after I was fixed Robyn broke the silence.
"Rave." She said gently "Who is Scath?"
"The ancient order used the name Scath to protect the name of their master." Rave spoke, his hand slipping into mine "we know her as Trigon.."
  I sat there confused as everyone reacted in fear. From my time being in Blood's control since a young age, I had never heard of that name. The fear in everyone's eyes told enough, it wasn't good. 
  "No way.." Cy gasped "That's who we are up against?"
  "Her cruelty is legendary." Bolt joined in "Even on my planet.."
"Rave?" Beast Girl asked "What makes you go all glowy in the dark?"
"It's a warning." He sighed squeezing my hand softly "It means a Trigon is coming and how she gets here is though me.. I'm not just a person, I'm a portal.."
"No!" I jumped up in anger surprising the others "No! Why's it have to be you? Why out of everyone does it have to be you?"
  "Because.." I watched him look down as he reached for my hand once more, I gently took it in worry "Trigon is my mother..Bad things are going to happen soon." He spoke squeezing my hand before letting go and walking towards one of the windows "Really bad things and it's going to be my fault. I thought I could handle this alone. I tried but I was wrong."
  "For condoling in us." Bolt spoke as we walked over to Rave "We are most humble."
  "I only have one question." Cy started "How do we stop her?"
  "We don't..."
  "Doesn't mean we won't try." I said walking over towards him. Rave looked down at me with a sigh before pulling me close "We are Titans and the six of us will continue to fight. I refuse to let anything happen to you."
  He looked down at me, gently kissing my forehead before turning towards the window. The six of us watched as the sun slowly stared to rise. Fear still lingering at the new information that was given..
