Chapter 58 A Late Christmas and New Years

(Dating 10 months)
Y/N's pov

"Bolt!"
  "Yes Friend Y/N! What is the up? Are you alright?" Bolt asked flying over towards me "Are you hurt, sad, the pmsing?"
  "You gotta stop letting BG teach you things." I sighed before looking up at my best friend "I was going to ask if you wanted to go to the store with me. I umm need to get a few things.."
"Of course I will accompany you!"
I smiled at my best friend as I grabbed his hand leading him out of the tower. Sadly when helping out the Doom Patrol we had missed Christmas Day and New Years but tonight we were doing a small party just the six of us.
  I clung onto Bolt's back as he took off in the air before I told him what places I wanted to stop by. I had saw this craft online that looked easy yet heartfelt to make for Rave. It was a bummer we didn't have much time before our next mission to celebrate the holidays but others lives comes before ours.
Arriving at the mall the two of us walked in waving and signing a few autographs before heading towards the craft store. I looked around spotting a mason jar and grabbed it quickly. Bolt followed me through the aisles as I grabbed construction paper and some gel pens.
I had already bought everyone else's gifts but with Rave it took a while for me to figure out what I wanted to do. Once grabbing everything I needed I went up and paid before heading home with Bolt.
  I waved at the others as we walked through the doors before running towards the kitchen and grabbing some tape and scissors from one of the drawers and heading up to my room. Closing the door and turning on the lights I got to work.
  I grabbed the blue, purple, and black pieces of paper before writing on them with my white gel pen.
Black: movie and book quotes that mean a lot to us
Blue: my favorite memories of the two of us
Purple: reasons why I love you.
  I taped the three pieces of paper to the top of the lid before lifting the jar up and writing 'Love and Memory Jar' on it in white and outlining it in black then decorating it with little stars. Once that was done I started to write out movie and book lines. 
  I jumped from my spot by my small table when I heard a knock coming from my door. I ran over and slowly opened the door only leaving space to see my face.
  "Hello?"
Rave looked down at me raising and eyebrow "You alright? Once you got home you ran off and locked yourself in here."
"O-oh yeah I'm fine!" I smiled at him "I'm just finishing wrapping up gifts.." the lie slipped from my lips as Rave nodded.
"Robyn also made lunch if you want any?"
I gave a small nod before turning my lights off and slipping out of my room. I reached down grabbing Rave's hand before following him downstairs.
  Later that day I was back in my room as the others set up the roof for our small party. Putting up a Christmas tree and decorating it in lights and bringing the grill up there so Cy could cook dinner like we had discussed a few days ago.
  I finished writing up all the notes and cutting them before placing them in the jar. Grabbing the black ribbon I had gotten earlier I tried making a bow to go around the lid. It came out a little messy but I still liked it. Quickly wrapping up Rave's gift I grabbed the other ones for my friends and exited my room heading towards the roof.
I stood still when I saw what they had done while I had been in my room. Our Christmas tree was up decorated in only lights with everyone else's gifts under it. Next to the tree was a few large blankets on the ground with pillows and some quilts on top for us to sit and stay warm. Not that staying warm was an issue for me.. There was also a table decorated with lights by the grill Cy was barbecuing at with the rest of the food on top.
I smiled walking towards the tree and placing my gifts under it before running and hugging Rave from behind as he talked to Robyn. He titled his head back looked at me squeezing my hand on his waist before going back to his conversation.
I pulled away leaving the two of them and walked towards Cy as she managed the grill. I watched her turn over the ribs "Need any help?"
"Actually can you go check BG's tofu rib in the oven." She spoke pointing at her arm "I put a timer on and it's almost up. It should be done when you get down there. Just bring it up here please girl."
I nodded my head then made my way towards the door. It didn't take long to grab the food and turn off the oven. Once I placed the tray next to Cy I walked towards the edge of the tower and sat down letting my legs dangle.
  Stars shined brightly around the moon as its light reflected off the ocean surface. I sighed softly staring at the city below.. missing a holiday or two is worth all the lives we protect..
  "Yo guys foods ready! Come get it while it's hot!" Cy called from behind me.
I pushed myself off the ground and ran over towards the others. I smiled as Rave handed me a plate before we got our food and drinks and headed towards the blankets.
He sat down getting comfortable before pulling me into his lap. I chuckled laying my food on my thighs as we both started to eat. It was a nice time just talking about everything we had done this year.. So much had happened.
  "Can we do the gifts now?" Bolt asked once we all finished eating "I'd wish to be the Santa."
  We all agreed and watched as the red head grabbed gifts from under the tree and started passing them out. I smiled at my best friend each time he handed me another gift as Rave played with a strand of my hair. After everything was passed out we decided to let Robyn go first.
  Once it was my turn I pulled away from Rave so I wouldn't be throwing wrapping paper on him. I smiled thanking Cy and BG for the two new horror movies they got me, Robyn for the crime novel, and Bolt for a new fuzzy pillow and some romcom movies.
  I jumped into the air once opening up Rave's gift spinning around with the item "Hell yes!" I turned around tackling my boyfriend in a hug "I love you! I love you!"
  "Whoa Rave what the heck did you get her?" I heard BG question as I kissed his cheek.
  "One of his cloaks!" I smiled jumping back up as I placed the clothing on and twirled around "I've been wanting one since we switched powers two months ago."
  "Come here and calm down idiot." My boyfriend sighed grabbing my hand and pulling me down next to him.
  I just smiled up at him like a goofball as I watched him open up his gifts them being a mixture of books and tea. He reached down and started to open mine after saying thank you to the others.
  He looked down at the jar as he read over the glass and lid before lifting me from his side and into his lap. He hugged me tightly kissing my forehead gently.
  "Thank you.. this means a lot to me.."
  "And you deserve it."
  "Okay okay! Enough of you two being mushy! It's weird!" BG yelled from our left "Can we start the fireworks now please!!"
  I nodded reluctantly pulling away from Rave before helping Cy set up the fireworks. Once they were ready I let a flame form on my finger before lighting them.
  I hurried back towards Rave as we watched the explosions in the sky listening to Cy, BG, and Bolt start to sing Christmas songs terribly. This was sure one nice way to start the year.
