District 7 & 8 Interviews

Lydia Polley POV

I love this. I can't wait for the real thing. I can't wait to kill Clay and just get it over with but I'm going to use him for the first part of the games for food, shelter, and other stuff.

I'm wearing a black dress with a green tide in it, reminding me of home. the green for the leaves on the trees and the black wasn't necessarily to represent the bark, it's just we didn't want a brown and green dress cause that would have looked weird I guess.

Anyway, District 6 tributes are almost done with their interviews and I'm actually getting nervous. Clay is wearing a black tux with a lightish dark green tie that also remind me of home, looking somewhat handsome.

I actually met Clay. Once. My dad brought me down to the woods at the edge and gave me his axe when he was my age. It was light so I could hold it stronger, swing faster, and throw farther. Once my dad left for work as a lumberjack, I staid and practiced more. A few minutes later a rabbit jumped out of nowhere onto a log by a little creek with flowing water that you could barely hear. It was wight with orange and black dots on it but after a few moments if looking at it, a whizzing sound came from above me. I look up and dodge at the same time wondering what it could be and I then see a spear whizzing through the air and impales the rabbit and it drops down from the log. I grabbed the axe and turned to where the spear had come from and see a boy, Clay, walking into the clearing. He had two other spears in a quiver like pouch to hold them. He knew I was there cause he looked at me and walked right past me to pick up the rabbit. He then put it in his pouch of game from past animals he's killed. I was 11 at this time. So he was probably 11 too. We talked and I kept his secret of hunting illegally and having a weapon or who knows how many he has. We became friends but over the years I've been focusing on training for the hunger games and then we sorta loss touch. But then we saw each other at the reaping and I was slightly happy to see him and to see how much he's changed over the years.

The interview ends and me and Clay are escorted onto the stage.

Clay Lawhead POV

We walk on the stage to see all these Capitol people are here to see us in such a big amphitheater. We wave, sit down, and start talking.

"Welcome District 7 tributes! How are you liking your stay in the Capitol?" Don asks.

"I love it. I can't wait to kill." Says Lydia next to me grinning happily to the crowd.

"And you?" Don asking, forwarding to me.

"Oh, umm I like it as well. The food is nice." I say trying to smile.

"Great! Now onto training, the two of you both got the score of 10, well done by the way." He says and the crowd cheers and starts asking questions of their own. "Hold on guys! I need to ask a question. What are your weapons of choice, what your hoping the arena will be and who do you want to kill more than anyone?" he asks and the crowd silences, wanting to know what we're saying. Lydia starts.

"My weapon of choice would be an axe. The arena I want would most likely be a forest and one person I really would want to kill would definitely be Claire Buchanan. That dingle-berry has got to go." She says and the crowd laughs at the last remark.

"And you?"

"Umm my weapon would probably be some spears and maybe an axe. I would do a saw but I haven't used those in a while. My arena of choice would be really really thick trees for shelter. And I don't really know who I'd want to kill. But if I had to I would to probably want to kill Robert from 13. He seems to be good with those throwing knives. He never misses. If I see him and he doesn't see me, I'll kill him."

"Very well! I'm afraid that's all we have time for folks. Let's have a big round of applause for District 7!" Don yells and the crowd cheers.

Griffin Martin POV

I walk on stage with Emily and we wave, sit down, and begin.

"How are you Griffin and Emily? Are you exited?" Don asks.

"Can't wait." I lie.

"What about you Emily? Rumor has it, your with the careers AND had the score of 12! Well done by the way!"

"I'm great! I still can't believe I got a 12!" Emily says.

"That's good. How is it like being a girls from District 8 of all places, creating an alliance with the careers?"

"I feel really safe with them. Grace Jaroz is a great friend."

"Griffin. Who are you thinking of becoming an alliance with?"

"No one." I say.

"No one? How come?" Don asks.

"Cause there's no one to be with. You can't get attached in something like this." I say simply.

buzz

"Well it seems that's all we have time for District 8! Let's have a big round of applause for Emily Cushing and Griffin Martin!" Don yells and the crowd erupts with excitement, probably cause Claire Buchanan is next. The girl from 9.

Hey guys. One thing I wanna do for my book is that the readers are like decision makers so you guys can comment things like "Oh I hope this person wins!"
