You didn't know what you were doing here.

Watching the man you love get married right in front of you hits different.

Astoria and Draco was arranged for marriage ever since they were little, and then Draco met you in Hogwarts. The both of you, have- well, had- something. You loved each other

But ofcourse, not all stories end with a happy ending. Maybe for some characters, but not all.

Your parents were friends with the Malfoys, and your whole family got to see the young Malfoy tie the knot with Greengrass. And they forced you to go with them.

They didnt know about your relationship with Draco, and you couldn't tell them. Because what's the point? You cant stop the marriage.

The priest ended the ceremony, there was one thing left to do.

"you may kiss the bride"

People wolf whistled, whilst you looked away from the front. You sigh, and looked at the sky, they were grey, as if they knew how you were feeling.

Draco looked at you, pain in his eyes. But you didnt look back. You couldn't.

Astoria took him by his tie and crashed her lips onto his. Draco didnt look away from you. He didn't want this. He wanted you to be infront of him. There at the altar. He wanted it to be you who was kissing him. He wanted you to be his wife.

You swallow the lump in your throat, and looked at Draco. A tear fell from your eye, but you quickly wiped it.

The both of you were in pain, and you nor Draco can do anything about it.

You couldn't take it anymore, you stood up, and walked out of the venue, not being noticed, since everyone was busy cheering for the newly wed couple

The venue was big, it was like a garden, so you walked towards a balcony, there was a fountain. You sat on the side of it, and let your tears freely fall.

A sob escaped your lips, you cover your face and leaned your elbows on your knees.

Hearing the cheers from inside, you wipe your tears and sat straight. You looked up the sky, it was gonna pour soon.

You then, heard footsteps from behind you, making you stand up and turn around. When you did, you saw those silver eyes. The ones you fell for

"Y/N", he said with such a painful voice, as if he would break down any moment.

Wiping the remaining tears, you awkwardly coughed, and smiled bitterly, "congrats"

He walked towards you and enveloped you into a hug, making your tears fall, once again. You heard him sob, this broke you into pieces.

"i'm sorry", he started, "i should've done something. Anything."

You bitterly laughed, "like what?"

He backed away, looking into your eyes, "i don't know, maybe we could have ran away?", he said, "maybe it's not too late, we could still-"

"Draco.", you interrupted, cupping his cheek, "we cant do anything about it anymore. It's too late. We had our time, it was a good one, right? But all good things must come to an end, my love"

"this doesn't need to end, Y/N"

You smile at him, "it does", you let go of his cheek, and back away, "i think it's better if we dont see each other again? For the sake of our hearts?"

Even if he didnt want to, Draco nodded, "but before you go, can you say it for the last time?"

Swallowing your throat, you said, "i love you, Draco Malfoy. Always and forever"

"i love you too, until my final breath", he said

You nodded, and for the last time, smiled at him. You pull out your wand and apperated away.

Draco swallowed the lump in his throat, "not all stories end with a happy ending"
