My hand is finally a free man, a stinky free man with a gnarly scar.

Sore but its finally free and is it weird that I feel like I can breath now even though it's just one hand?

Anyways, I'm already halfway through the day and I'm humming along again to the little tune in my head. When out of no where I hear a loud groan, "Aryn?"

Sadie sitting on the bench outside in the courtyard.

"Goodmorning!"

She looks down at her watch before looking at me.

"Its 1:50 in the afternoon--- you know what? That doesn't matter. I need to hear you sing," she demands instantly.

"My day has been good and yours? Oh look, a free hand!" I sarcastically tell her showing off my wrist proudly.

Sadie glances at it before looking at my face then grabbing it lightly running her hand over the scar.

'This could be the start, of something new. It feels so right to be here with you, oh--'

"You are not singing High School Musical to me right now." I stop my song and think of another song.

'This is the real, this is the me. I'm exactly where I'm-'

"At least you can sing but we are not doing Disney channel music."

"Sing to me Palo," I say dramatically while she furrows her eyebrows, suddenly looking at me confused.

"What?" She questions just as confused.

"The Lizzie McGuire Movie?" She shakes her head no while I look defeated.

Never mind.

"Really though, sing for me."

Sadie looks down at her hands for a second and that's when I realize she's nervous.

"Take your time, no rush."

She starts to sway before closing her eyes and I swear I fell in love when I heard her voice.

'Now I've heard there was a secret chord. That David played, and it pleased the Lord. But you don't really care for music do you?'

I couldn't help but stare at her with my mouth open in shocked, she just sounded so beautiful.

'...the baffled king composing Hallelujah.'

I joined along matching her pitch with her singing, 'Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah.'

Trust me we sounded so good together, our voices flowing together rather fighting over one another.

Once she was done, she opened her eyes with her cheeks rosy pink.

"I think we sound pretty darn good together." I admit.

"You were a bit off key."

I shove her lightly causing her laugh while she looks at me, "so what are we gonna sing?"

That's the million dollar question.

It's now October and we are 26 days away from our first performance thing. Sadie and I have become really good friends since we hangout almost everyday besides on the weekends. Today is different though, she didn't show up and I'm a bit worried about her.

I've texted her a few times but no answer, we test everyday since I got my phone back and for her not to send me a snarky remark bothers me.

"Keeps!" I hear the familiar brunette out of no where, she waves at me excitedly and runs up to me stopping herself from hugging me.
