It's now February 15 and I found myself up to bat in the ninth inning with bases loaded and two outs, oh and we are down by three.
So if there is going to be a miracle here, I better show up now.
A lot has happened in the last two weeks but it's nothing major.
Of course, Sadie is getting worse, which absolutely breaks my heart and now she has to carry an oxygen tank with her everywhere. She keeps this positive attitude as always and mostly everyone at school knows about her.
I've gotten closer to Mikey and Ben, which turns out they are soulmates and are such the cutest couple. Although, no one knows but Sadie, Hannah and I.
I reel my mind back in and focus on the pitcher, who seems to be communicating with the catcher.
"This is a boys game, go back to the kitchen and clean," he trash talks causing my anger to instantly spike.
I take my stance and I wait for the pitcher to make his play, "Nice ass by the way. I'll like to get-"
And that's when I follow through, I connect my bat with the ball as I send it flying towards center field. It almost makes it out the fence but it hits it instead.
I take off running as the crowd goes wild, I take note of Hunter who was originally on first base. He flies through second and I find myself booking it to second.
I see the ball flying through so, I slide down but that's when the ball is overthrown and I hear coach scream.
"Three! Three!" he screams and I stumble, running towards third and I touch the base, flying towards home.
The catcher is there, in stance as I book it head on and I find myself sliding but I'm not looking for home base.
I slide straight into his ankles, sending him flying and losing the ball that was thrown to him.
"Safe!"
Everyone begins to cheer as the guys run out the dug out, picking me up.
"What the actual hell Bubba!" Mikey screams picking me up.
"Maybe next time, don't piss me off," I say looking towards the catcher who gives me a dirty look, walking off.
"What did he say? Want me to kill him?" Hunter is quick to say, looking like he was about to beat someone up.
"Don't worry about it, we just won!" I scream as we all cheer.
After we shake hands with the other team, we gather up at first base for a team talk which I tune out and then we are freed to go.
I grab my bag, walking out towards the bleachers were my whole cheering section is.
Which consists of Mom, Momma, Sadie's parents, Sadie, Hannah, Syd, Dom, Cassius, Uncle Vince, Aunt Bridgette, Kalli, Kevin, and my other little cousins, plus some other girls from the Pride.
"That was one hell of a hit baby! Good job!" Mom compliments, bring me into a bone crushing hug.
"Thank you Mom," I say, before being passed around for a hug.
Ben and Mikey, walk towards my little crowd, saying hi to my parents as I finally reach Sadie.
"The best for last," I mumble, kissing her cheek.
"Good job, Ryn and what did he say to make you so mad. I'm pretty sure you slide tackled him, looked like you were after his ankles," Sadie tells me.
"Shhh peanut," I whisper to her as she starts laughing at me.
"You ass looks good in those pants by the way," she whispers in my ear causing me to shake my head and laugh.
