"Mommy, I know I'm ten years old but can you tell me a story?" the little girl questions her mother who is laying right next to her. Head propped up while she runs her hands through her daughter's hair.
"You're never too old for a bedtime story baby," the mother says as she gets comfortable next to her daughter.
"Long ago when the Earth was born and the land was created, where the flowers could bloom and the birds could fly. The universe realized the beauty within the Earth, the growth, the freedom, the calm, the peace. When humans began to evolve, the universe realize that love was created too. Thus, creating soulmates, a person who will protect you, who will love you unconditionally, who will fight for you, and who will show you the true meaning of the beauty this world contains. No matter the bad and the universe wanted an easier way for them to find each other."
"Is that why you adopted me? Because we were meant to be a family?" The daughter questions the mother who looks at her daughter with so much love.
"Maybe my love, the universe can be mysterious in many ways." The mother tell her as she smiles and snuggles into her chest.
"Have you found your soulmate mommy?"
"The thing about soulmates baby is that the universe can be wrong and the universe can be tricky. It's all about timing baby, just timing is all." She explains while she glances at the simple gem that is on her finger. The gem that appears on your finger the day you turn 18 and it glows the first time you ever touch your soulmate.
She looks down at the amber colored stone that instantly reminds her of the feisty woman that she fell in love with the first time she ever met her. That promised her a future and gave her so much hope. Then destroyed it when she realized that her partner who was supposed to love her unconditionally but wasn't prepared to have a child in their life. To let someone so small that she didn't know get in her way of accomplishing her goals.
The thing is the mother has accomplished the same things her soulmate has but it was all about the timing you could say.
