My eyes focused on the clock that kept ticking. There was a tube down my throat, and I couldn't find the strength to move my hands.

I tried to stay calm as I breathed through my nose, but it wasn't really working. My room was dark, and I was alone.

Not the way I wanted to wake up from my accident.

I waited patiently for someone to arrive and it was finally four a.m. when a nurse walked into my room.

She approached me, checking my vitals and I slowly moved my head causing her to yelp.

"Aryn?" she quickly says as I blink. She throws on the lights and I squeeze my eyes shut at the sudden brightness.

"Crap. Sorry hun, let me get some help," she tells me quickly getting some of the other nurses.

They start to move around me, getting the tube out my throat before checking everything on my body.

So far, I discovered a huge scar from my sternum to my belly button and I can't hear from my right ear, which should resolve on its own.

Other than that, I am perfectly fine. Just the scar, that now ruined my chest tattoos, is going to take a while to heal.

"Nurse," I question the woman who originally walked in, "I didn't catch your name, I'm sorry."

"Beatrice," she tells me with a soft smile.

"Beatrice, can you tell me how my daughter is?" I question, knowing well that Noah was no longer inside me. I could feel her presences missing.

"I'm not too sure how she is. Since she was discharged three days ago-"she was explaining before I interrupted her.

"Wait, ma'am? How long was I asleep?"

"Two months, it's now November 15," she explains to me as my face drops.

I sit back in my bed and play with my hands.

There was so much that was bothering me now, but I didn't really want to talk about it.

"Try to get some rest hun. Your girlfriend is usually here bright and early, she comes when my shift changes. The physical therapist should be here in the morning and your doctor will be here to talk with you as well," she explains to me.

"Thank you, Beatrice," is all I say as I pull the blanket up to my chin.

I didn't sleep, I laid in bed waiting for Emily to walk in. I had the food network channel playing and I watch Pioneer woman make some food that looked appetizing.

"Good morning Kevin. Good morning Beatrice!" I hear a familiar voice say as I see the door open.

I sit up, looking at the beautiful woman walk in and the look on her face was priceless.

Emily looks at me, then back at the door before rubbing her eyes and walking out.

Wait what?

Emily walks in soon after and she has the same look on her face.

"Am I dreaming?" she questions more to herself than me and I can't help but laugh as she slowly walks towards me.

"Hi Em," I let out softly as she approaches me.

I hold out my arms and that's all it takes for her to bring me into a gentle hug.

She doesn't say anything, she just holds me tightly in her arms like she was afraid I would disappear.

"Don't you dare, scare me like that again," she mumbles in my ear.
