'And the songbirds keep singing, like they know the score.
And I love you, I love you, I love you, like never before.'
"Shut that b-tch up!" I hear echo just outside the door with the occasional things crashing.
'And I wish you all the love in the world.
But most of all, I wish it from myself.'
That's when the door swings open and a beer bottle clashes just above my head.
"Shut the f-ck up already with that damn song! She's dead! You killed her Aryn! You killed her!" my mom yells but I just stare at the devil in front of me. Just hoping she would kill me already so at least I could be with her.
"You should of just opened your legs! Then she wouldn't be dead! So shut the f-ck up before it's your funeral!" she slams the door right after.
I lean against the wall, grabbing the shirt that faintly smelt like Angelica. Even though it was a musky scent, you could still smell the sweet orange scent of the dish soap we were allowed to wash ourselves with once a week.
'And the songbirds, keep singing, like they know the score.'
The door flies open again causing me to jump, slicing my hand on a shard of glass that was on the floor.
I was expecting it to be my mother but it was far from it, it was a man I never seen before. Even though it was dark in this room, I could faintly make out the person before me.
"You must be Aryn, I can't wait to teach you some new things."
---
I shoot up from my bed, breathing heavily while I take my surroundings in. Instantly noticing the small night light that I keep to remind me of where I am incase of nights like this.
I eventually calm my breathing down before I reach over to the night stand, grabbing my glasses."Three in the morning again," I grumble. Swinging my legs off my bed and trudging to the bathroom.
Grabbing the little pills, I sort the other half of the line from last night, snorting it.
The numbness wasn't setting in again, so I quietly crush up another pill. Snorting the two lines I just formed to finally accomplishing my goal.
Cleaning my mess and making sure I had no evidence left, I grab my blanky that mom gave me when she first adopted me and curled into a ball.
Pulling out my phone, I hesitate for a second before pressing the call button.
The phone rings twice before I hear a click, "Mommy?"
"What's a matter baby?" Mommy's groggy voice questions causing me to sniffle just a bit.
"I had a bad dream," I whisper. Really just needing her cuddles at this moment.
"Go get in bed with Ali," Mommy tells me but I shake my head, not moving, "baby, it's okay. Ali's not gonna get mad, now go okay?"
Wrapping my blanket tightly around me, I walk to mom's room where Ali is and nudge her lightly hoping she wake up.
"Pst, Ali?" I whisper causing her to stir before sitting up confused.
"Hey hun, you okay?" she questions softly. I shake my head no as she pulls back the blanket.
