Ashlyn's POV

Tying my shoes, my phone began to ring like crazy as I noticed that it was Aryn's lawyer calling me.

I immediately answer the phone, putting it to my ear.
"Ms. Harris, thank you for picking up," Leo tells me with panic in his voice.

"Is there a problem?" I question.
"Yes," he immediately answers, "please tell me you're with Aryn."

"No, I'm away at camp. She's with my fiancé, Ali. Can you explain what is going on?"

"It seems that Eric Patterson has managed to escape prison and we can't find him. We have reason to believe that he is looking for your daughter," he lets out in a panic.

I immediately hang up and call Ali.

We need to find my daughter, now.

Aryn's POV

I let out another laugh as I take off my practice gear and set it into the duffle bag that carries the catchers gear.

"No like really bubba, he straight up burnt the food to the point where it wouldn't even come off the pan," Mikey jokes as Ben gives me a glare.

They are such an adorable couple that it makes my heart happy.

"See you later coach," I call out, waving at him as she waves back at us.
I walk along side Ben and Mikey as we continue to talk.

"You need a ride?" Ben questions.

"Actually, not today, I'm going to get some practice in for my audition and it's not that far of a walk from here," I explain to them.

Ben and Mikey look uneasy but I can see them shake it off as they both give me a hug and let me walk off.

I continue to hum along, walking down the street and I take my usual route. Passing through an empty park that I usually cut through to get the music shop faster.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't my favorite client."
I feel my body instantly go into flight mode as the chills erupt all over my body.

This cannot be happening.

Again.

I drop my bag, getting myself ready to take off running.

Before I can do so, I feel a gun pressed into my head as I take a deep breath, not moving.

"Make a sound and I will blow your head off, I don't need you alive for the things I want to do to you."
I stay quiet and follow him willingly, afraid about what is about to happen.

He takes me to an abandon house and I find myself pin down against the ground as he walks around.

"You know, I hoped I would never see you again," I begin.

"Now you talk," he scoffs unamused.

"I really enjoyed being a goalkeeper for my soccer team," I randomly let out, "also being a catcher. Have you seen me on the field? I'm on fire out there."

"Shut the hell up."

"Once, I chanced it all and noticed the goalkeeper away from her spot and scored a goal," I tell him remembering that memory.

"Why are you telling me this?"

"I want to show you that I am a person and not just some person you can abuse."
He starts laughing at me, walking over to me and hovering over me. He reaches out to touch my face and I find myself shaking as he caresses me.
