5:07pm –

As planned we’ve arrived at the Oak Club. Jai pulls up into a parking space around the back of the giant building in our blacked out SUV. He turns off the ignition and pauses a second before speaking “Are you ready?”

“Yeah I think so” I told him knowing just how little confidence I displayed , but truth be told I felt uneasy, this guy was a serial fucker, every night fucking someone other than his wife, most likely as well as his wife. He could easily take advantage of me and I’d have to play a long, I guess it would make the kill all the sweeter.

“Good enough for me” he huffs and pushes open the front driver door. He steps out of the SUV and crouches behind the door, he looks left and right before shutting the door behind him, he moves cautiously around the side of the SUV and pulls open the back door, he steps inside and grabs all of our bags before stepping back out and shutting the door in one swift movement, he makes his way around to the passenger door and opens it, he looks at me for a second as if he’s waiting for me to say something.

“Let’s go” I smiled feeling slightly uneasy. It’s not that I’m afraid of the kill, I’m not afraid of the build up, I’m not afraid of getting caught but often it makes me feel uneasy letting another man touch me the way only Jai should. He pushes back his perfectly sculpted dark hair and pulls a soft black beanie over his head.

“You know the plan? You confident?” he asked holding his arm over the door way to block my exit.

“Follow him into the club, seduce him, make out with him, tell him we’re going to fuck, lead him to the forest and you throttle the bastard before ripping out his throat” I recited the plan, my voice raising in excitement by the second, saying the plan out load made this more real which thrilled me immensely, the lead up to the kill was the only part that ever made me uneasy but knowing the outcome of the dreaded seduction makes the thought of the plan a lot more bearable.

“I love it when you talk killer to me” Jai winks before holding out his hand to help me out. He leans on the still open door looking me over, the dress had risen drastically, and it barely covered my ass. “You’re really fucking tempting me” he warned, a seductive glint in his eye as a smirk rose on his gorgeous lips.

“I’m sorry Mr Brooks but you have work to do, and we both know that you should never mix business with pleasure” I lean forward so that my lips brush his ear. I can almost feel him smile as I move away.

“Well, Miss Miller we best get down to it then” he winked making his way towards the back wall of the club. He stayed as close to the wall as possible, I noticed that his sleeve was rolled up ever so slightly revealing a glimpse of the beginning of the tattoo sleeve on his right arm. I rushed to his side and pulled the sleeve of his shirt down so that his wrist was covered fully, he looked at me wryly.

“Your tattoo” I motioned towards his wrist.

“Shit” he mutters grabbing a pair of black gloves from his pocket. He pulls them over his hands before making his way across the car park. I followed behind him, watching his every movement just in case we had to cover our tracks.

As I wondered through the car park of the Oak Club I began to wonder what it would’ve been like to have stayed in New York. Maybe I would’ve kept in contact with my family, Jai said it would’ve been too hard to mask who I was but I’ve been pretending for years and they never noticed, but then I guess they would’ve asked questions about the fire, about Luke, and I honestly had no answers, not ones that would satisfy them anyway. So we came to the conclusion of faking my death, Jai had hacked into the hospital security and erased all footage of the pair of us ever being in the hospital the night of the fire, he shredded every record that contained my name and any doctor that threatens to reveal the truth shall be killed by yours truly. Officer Sahyounie took a visit to my parents the night following the fire to give them the bad news, they were potential divorcees and childless, I couldn’t help but pity them a little, they’d lost everything without compensation. Daniel visited us the morning before we left; he told us that leaving was the best thing to do given that I could no longer technically be alive. So Hope Florence Miller is no more.
