Chapter 26

Anna's POV

I heard the doorbell go off and I headed downstairs to grab my phone an go to ice cream with Jack. I heard Caity yell at me, but I couldn't tell what she said. I stepped outside the door and was met with Jack's face.

Jack: You look beautiful.

Anna: Thanks, So how are you.

Jack: You mean after I was shot?

Anna: Yeah.

Jack: I'm fine. I have a check up tomorrow and then I will know more, but I want to know about you.

Anna: I am fine I got cleared to go to work on Wednesday.

Jack: I don't have to go to work till we go Florida.

Anna: I read a really cute scene between our characters earlier today.

Jack: I heard we have a really good moment anyways lets not talk about work.

Anna: Okay. When do you start school?

Jack: On Monday. I have a half day and then we go back full time.

Anna: That's what my sisters are doing. I don't start until September.

Jack: Right you are doing homeschool.

Anna: Yeah. I think it will be weird, but I will be working most of the time.

Jack: Do you want cookie dough?

Anna: Yeah thanks.

Jack got our ice cream and we continued to walk around the park until we found a bench near the pond.

Anna: I am glad you asked me to come with you.

Jack: Yeah, so the real reason I asked you to come with me was so we could talk about what happened at the hospital.

Anna: You mean when you almost kissed me?

He whipped his head around towards me and starred at me.

Anna: You thought I was still foggy, but I remember everything.

Jack: I'm sorry. I should not have done that.

Anna: Don't apologize.

He turned his head back towards me, I leaned in and put my hand on his face. He leaned closer to me and I put my lips on his. He was stunned a little at first, but eventually reacted, kissing me back. We pulled apart and our foreheads stayed together for a little longer. He got up and reached out for my hand. I looked at him a little surprised, but took it anyways. We walked in silence around the park for a little longer before he took me back home. We stopped at my doorstep and somehow my head was on his shoulder. He looked at me while are hands we still connected. He leaned in and I put my hand on his head and we shared another kiss our foreheads were still touching when Caity opened the door and startled us. We let go of hands and tried to act normal when she looked us up and down. She closed the door and we both looked at each other and laughed.

Jack: I guess I will see you later.

Anna: Yes you will.

I stepped inside the house and closed the door behind me. I didn't even make it one foot in the door until I was bombarded by questions mostly from Caity.

Caity: Did you guys kiss? Was he nice? Did he pay?

Anna: I am not answering any questions, and what is with all the boxes?

Caity: I think that is stuff for the babies.

Anna: When are my parents going to be home?

Caity: They should be here anytime.

Anna: Okay I am going upstairs.

Caity: Not until I hear the whole story about your date.

Anna: We got ice cream and then he dropped me off.

Caity: I will get the whole story.

Anna: No you won't.

I went upstairs to my room and waited for my parents to be home.

Melissa: Girls come downstairs dinner is ready!

Anna: On my way!

We ate dinner and talked about everything.

Melissa: I got an email today about going to Florida for the crossover.

Anna: Yeah Jack told me about it. I have seven full days that week we are in Florida.

Alexa: Can we go to Florida?

Anna: Nope. We are going to be working the whole time we are there.

Ashton: It is where we are from. Why can't we go?

Anna: Because I said so.

Chris: Come on let's not fight. We will cross that bridge when we get there.

Anna: Whatever.

Alexa: Can we please talk about the date Anna went on today.

Melissa: You went on a date?

Anna: No I went to get ice cream with a friend.

Ashton: That is not what I heard.

Chris: Who where you with?

Anna: It does not matter.

Chris: It does matter.

Avery: She was with Jack.

Anna: Avery!

Avery: Yeah and she kissed him.

Melissa: Really?

Anna: I did not. Can we talk about something else, like about how you guys have to go to school tomorrow.

Avery: Do I have to go? Anna doesn't have to go.

Anna: Yeah well Anna has a full time job and you don't.

Chris: Anna do not be rude.

Melissa: Yes Avery you have to go to school.

Avery: Fine.

Alexa: Forget about school, what are we supposed to do when school is over and you guys are not home.

Chris: Our parents are moving to Vancouver to help take care of you.

Anna: Okay.

Melissa: You three need to go shower and get to bed. Anna will you help us with the dishes.

Anna: Sure.

We did the dishes and dad went to take all the boxes in the entryway into the nursery.

Melissa: So you went on a date today?

Anna: It was not a date.

Melissa: Okay, so what was it?

Anna: I don't know. It was hanging out.

Melissa: Okay you were hanging out with a friend, so what happened?

Anna: We went to get ice cream and then we sat on a bench near a pond and we might of kissed.

Melissa: Might of?

Anna: Please don't tell anyone. I don't know what we are or what we will be.

Melissa: Okay I won't.

Anna: And dad cannot know.

Melissa: Okay go get in the shower.

Melissa's POV

I watched her leave the kitchen and then Chris came and found me.

Melissa: Hey.

Chris: What happened at dinner tonight?

Melissa: That was sisters being sisters you will get used to it.

Chris: Okay do you want to watch a movie?

Melissa: No I want to go to bed.
