Melissa's POV
Today I have an interview with James Corden. It is around seven at night right now and Chris and I are tucking the twins in bed. We were on the couch chilling till about 9 p.m. when I had to leave to go to the show. I got on set and was sitting in hair and makeup when I got a text from Chris.
Chris: Avery is down you can stop worrying now.
I laughed because he always knew how I felt. Over the next hour I finished getting ready and then the show started. I was doing a solo interview first and then one with Grant and Stephan promoting the crossover.
James: Our next guess has been flying high for six seasons now. Please help me welcome Melissa Wood.
I walked out on the set and got seated before the interview started.
James: Welcome Melissa, how are you?
Melissa: I'm good.
James: Congrats on the huge success from the show.
Melissa: Thank you.
James: The last time you and I visited was about five years ago and I introduced you as Melissa Benoist. Obviously a lot has changed since then tell me the story.
Melissa: Well I got married a little over a year ago.
James: I think we have a picture. There it is and your family.
Melissa: Yes.
James: What's his name?
Melissa: His name is Chris Wood.
James: Your co-star who plays Mon-El.
Melissa: Yep.
James: So I am seeing some kids tell us that story.
Melissa: Right so we adopted four girls when I was about 2 months pregnant and then 5 months later I had the twins.
James: So from left to right your husband is there and then Avery, Alexa, Ashton, Anna and who are the little ones?
Melissa: Well those are the twins. I have Lincoln and Chris has Phoenix.
James: You have a very big family, and also a very big CW family as well. What is it like working with you husband and daughter on the show?
Melissa: When we walk on set the whole mentality changes. I don't feel like I am working with my daughter and husband it feels like they are just ordinary cast-mates.
We went into break and they brought out Grant and Stephan.
James: We are joined by Grant Gustin and Stephen Amell. Welcome how are you guys?
Grant: We're good.
Stephen: Yeah.
James: So you guys recently just got back from shooting your big crossover this year. What can we expect from it.
Grant: In the past years when someone was flying they have been photoshopped in and this year we got to do a lot more wire work.
Stephen: Yeah. That was not a fun experience.
James: Wait what do you mean?
Stephen: There is a scene where Grant and I are put in wires for the first time and Anna Wood shows up both of us.
James: I have been meaning to ask how hard is it to do that?
Grant: You should really be asking Melissa.
Melissa: I do not have a ton of experience with wiring in the way you guys did it, but it is hard.
James: Like in what way?
Stephen: Everything is harder and Anna makes it look so easy.
Grant: Yeah. They put you in the harnesses and I think we both had about ten extra pounds attached to us and then they attach you and raise you up.
Stephen: So once we were in the air they have to test the wires and Anna just gets up there does a few flips goes in and out of flying position and then puts herself back upright, but that is not what we did.
They show a clip of Anna testing her wires and then Grant and Stephen doing it.
Stephen: That takes and incredible amount of core strength with all the training she does she has to have abs.
Melissa: She does.
Grant: You would know.
James: So I was just talking with Melissa about her kids and you Stephen have one daughter and Grant you and your wife just announced you're having you first child.
Grant: We did.
James: Congratulations, so I always like to hear how husbands find out their significant other was pregnant do you have any stories.
Melissa: I took the test and when the line came back faint I yelled at Chris and that is how he found out.
Stephen: My wife told me she thought she was pregnant and we found out together.
Grant: I don't know the story of how my wife found out she was pregnant, but Melissa does.
James: What?
Melissa: So the guys were going on their annual DC get away and LA texted our group chat and said that she thought that she was pregnant. So I told everybody to come to my house everybody including LA, Chyler Leigh, Caity Lotz, and Danielle Panabaker who recently had a baby at the time. She took the tests in my downstairs bathroom and when we checked them after the timer went off they were positive and then a few hours later my water broke.
James: Grant you weren't the second to know?
Grant: I don't think I made top ten.
James: What?
Grant: So I found out two days later. LA and I were watching the girls while Melissa and Chris were at the hospital and they came home we met the babies and on our way out of the house LA turned to me and said you know that will be us in a few months. I looked at her in disbelief and said "Is this a joke?" And she responded with nope we are going to have a baby and that is how I found out.
James: But you said you didn't make the top ten so who else knew?
Grant: Chris and then their kids so yeah I found out in Melissa and Chris's front yard.
James: That is great. Anyways I wanted to thank you guys for being here.
I went home and got in bed next to Chris as he hugged me from behind.
