Seek Harmony

Same Day, Next Year

A year has passed since we last met

Many events have come and gone

Let's sit and watch old fountain jet

Rainbows arc with first light of dawn

Through this past year some tears were shed

Some losses and times of regret

Smiles and laughter also thread

Through memories I won't forget

My pen captured slices of life

Created a story or two

Peppered with nature and wildlife

I shared my heart's bubbling brew

To my future my mind is cast

What stories have yet to be told?

Twists and turns I cannot forecast

I'll tread hardships with footsteps bold

A day together we have spent

Watch you leave; you'll return next year

And to the day you will present

Birthday's review of tears and cheer
