Fall's Last Hurrah

Sitting in my garden

On a warm day in fall

Trees turning golden brown

Watch bumblebee's slow crawl

Tomorrow rain will come

And temperatures will drop

Enjoy this warm respite

And brace for quick flip-flop

Chair sits by goldenrod

Plant trembles in soft breeze

Grasshopper shares a stare

Then flies away with ease

Green colors fading fast

And garden beds will sleep

But only above ground

Below life will still creep

Stop and take some pictures

Of life in slow withdraw

Before harsh cold creeps in

Soak in fall's last hurrah

Author's note: Written will sitting in my garden on November 10th when pictures of the garden were taken.
