Doves are courting
Deep in green trees
Soft coos linger
And waft with breeze
Tan seeds twirling
From maple trees
Seeking new ground
For roots to seize
Honeysuckle
Perfumes backyard
Small woodpecker
Sharp raps bombard
Blue jay chortles
High up in tree
Cardinal gives nut
To mate then flees
Last night's raindrops
Linger in air
Wind gusts in spurts
Lifting my hair
Big dark gray cloud
Drifts overhead
Breeze feels cooler
No shadows tread
Squirrels interrupt
Desire to write
Begging peanuts
Squabbles ignite
Through break in clouds
Sunbeam escapes
Dancing through leaves
Over landscapes
Spinner's prism
Refracts sunlight
Small rainbows twirl
To my delight
Sunbeam soon fades
As clouds crowd in
Storms are brewing
For late night din
A hissing sound
Watch raindrops fall
Ends in moments
A brief spring squall
Under porch's roof
Watch nature sway
Soak up her sounds
To end my day
