Your POV

It's been a week since my boyfriend decided to explode himself to stop the world from waking up. Oh, by the way, did I mention that he didn't tell me? He told Hazel and Frank to hand him the physician's cure but he didn't even have the decency to tell his girlfriend.

Anyway, it's been rough, so I decided to leave camp for a while. So here I was now, with Larry, Nick and the exhibits from New York, walking along the dark empty halls of the British Museum. The first exhibit we passed were marble statues, no doubt Greek. They seemed confused when we passed by but they were harmless. They seemed bothered about me, though. Their gaze followed me as we walked past them. I kept my gaze down. I didn't need them to know my identity.

In the next hallway, we ran into some trouble. We heard rumbling footsteps at the far end of the corridor. Moments later, we saw a triceratops skeleton; my Hades powers sensed it was (or used to be) female. It reminded me so much of Rexy. Larry took an elephant tusk from the wall and threw it towards the skeleton. Our relief was short-lived when she broke the tusk and started charging at us.

I stood my ground. I knew I could control it, but then I felt someone tug my arm.

"(Y/n), let's go," I heard Ahkmenrah tell me. Bless him. I knew he had a little something for me, but I told him I was still moving on. Besides, I promised Leo I would wait for him—wherever he is right now. Gods, I missed him.

"Ahk, it's fine! I can—"

"No, (y/n). It's too dangerous. There's nothing you can do," he said with finality. Gods, why didn't I just tell them before that I was a demigod?

We entered a circular room. It looked like a medieval armory room. Larry sealed the entrance with a wooden bar.

"(Y/n)," Larry said angrily, "what on earth were you thinking?"

"Guys, if you would just let me—" I was cut off by the triceratops breaking down the door.

"DUCK!" Larry yelled as they all went for cover. Me, being the stubborn daughter of Hades that I am, I stood face-to-face with the skeleton.

"(Y/n), what are you doing?" Teddy whisper-yelled. "You're going to get yourself killed!"

I paid him no mind. Instead, I focused on this skeleton before me. I felt the life force around it. It roared at me. The others whimpered back, whispering my name.

"Now, now," I calmly addressed the fossilized remains. "I don't think that's how you should address your master."

The skeleton tilted its head at me.

"I know you know what I am," I said straightening my posture. "We wouldn't want my dad to get involved now, do we?"

The skeleton, which I now named Trixie in my mind, whimpered and backed away. It exited through the broken door with its head down, tail in between its legs.
