Your POV

Today made me both excited and nervous. Why? Because today was July 7th, my boyfriend's birthday. I had a surprise planned for him, but now I wasn't so sure if I made the right call.

You see, my dad is Hades. Compared to other gods, Hades was the most protective of his children. Of course, he did that in secret though. He always did. That's why Nico was able to bring Hazel back without the others knowing, or why he knew about the two camps coexisting before anyone else did.

Anyway, I talked to Hades the other day about this surprise. Of course, he didn't agree at first. But after some convincing and getting Persephone involved, he eventually agreed, as long as it was only for two hours tops.

"Hey, Leo!" I called as I happily skipped toward him. I didn't look like a child of Hades, unlike my brother Nico. I was more cheerful and sunshiny, almost like a child of Apollo.

"Hey, (y/n)!" He said.

"I have a surprise for you," I said as I took his hand and ran to find a shady spot in the forest.

"Where are we going?" He asked.

"Central Park," I replied.

"The daughter of Hades brings her boyfriend to celebrate his birthday under the sun in the busiest city in the world," he smirked.

"Oh that's just the beginning!" I stopped under a thick canopy of trees. Sunshine still peeked through, but it was dark enough to shadow travel to Manhattan without me passing out.

I felt a tug at my stomach as shadows wrapped around us. It felt like we were free-falling on a roller coaster. I heard Leo briefly scream as he clutched my hand tightly. Very tightly.

We soon emerged somewhere in the southern part of Central Park near a pile of boulders. I walked up to the front and started singing. I was a pretty good singer. Like I said I'm more like an Apollo child, much to my real father's annoyance.

"What's happening?" Leo looked at me quizzically. A few minutes later, two rocks parted with a grinding sound, revealing a dark tunnel that goes downward. Leo looked at the tunnel in shock.

"Door of Orpheus," I said. "It can only be opened by music. This leads down to the Underworld."

Leo tensed and held my hand tighter, which was remarkable because I didn't think he can hold it any tighter.

"W-Why are we g-going to the Underworld e-exactly?" He asked, obviously scared. I gave him a soft but reassuring kiss.

"Relax, Leo," I said, "I swear on the Styx we'll come back alive and safe."

He gulped as I dragged him down the tunnel. He yelped when the rocks shut behind us. A small flame appeared on his hand as he lit the way.

"So..." he said. "You come to the Underworld often?"

I shook my head. "Not as often as Nico. Probably just a few times when it's really necessary."

"So... Nico has to sing to get into the Underworld?" He tried to crack a smile but I knew he was trying to use humor as a way to hide the fact that he was about to wet his pants.

"There's another entrance," I said. "D.O.A. Records, but that's in Los Angeles. Nico just probably opens a hole in the ground. I don't know, he's pretty secretive like dad."
