Your POV

"JASOOOON!" I scream his name as I fly down toward him and tackle him in a hug, one hand holding his present. I quickly peck his cheek and pull away, offering him his gift with both of my arms.

"Thanks, (y/n)!" Jason says. "Have you seen Piper?"

"Yep," I said, popping the 'p'. "And um, don't tell them I told you this, but I saw her and Leo making your present in Bunker 9, and I may or may not have seen a Pikachu robot."

Jason smiled widely. "Well then, I promise to act surprised."

We made small talk as we headed to his birthday party at the forum in Camp Jupiter. I gotta admit, Camp Half-Blood is cool and all but the Romans practically established their own small country among the California hills.

"So the pine tree on your hill used to be our sister?" He summed up as I explained why Percy calls Thalia 'pine cone face'.

"Yup."

"Why a pine tree?"

"I dunno. Ask dad I guess? Maybe he likes pine trees."

"Speaking of that pine tree," he said, "I saw you and Valdez their one night. What were you doing?"

"Oh, you know," I nervously replied, "just best friend stuff. Hanging out, having a picnic..."

"Gazing at the stars as you make out at the spot where our sister turned into a tree."

I playfully wacked his arm.

"It's not like that!" I exclaimed. "We're just friends."

"And you never secretly wished you were more?" he asked as I poked his sides. He squirmed as I hit his tickle spot, causing me to giggle.

"Well it's not like he likes me back."

"There he comes." He points to two figures approaching, hauling up a heavy looking box to our direction.

"Happy birthday, Superman!" Leo said. Piper went over and gave my brother a hug and a kiss. Leo and I look at each other as the two continue with their PDA.

"Wanna walk?" I offered, to which he nodded in response.

We walked side-by-side (but not hand-in-hand) through the winding streets of New Rome. It was beautiful, almost comparable to the real Rome. I would know, we've been there before. After about 10 minutes, we decide to rest in Bombilo's Coffee Shop. I ordered (f/cs/f) and (f/cs/d) because I knew that the food at the party would only be party snacks. Leo insisted on paying but I said no.

We took outside seats since it was a nice day out. Leo and I had been best friends for a long time but others sometimes confuse us as a couple. Well, maybe it's because he sometimes surprise hugs me from behind, or it the times when we walk he'll randomly grab my hand...

"(Y/n)?" Leo snapped his fingers in front of my face.

"Yes, (y/n). That's me. I'm here."

He giggled at my awkwardness which made me slightly blush. Our orders came and we thanked Bombilo. For some reason, Leo seemed to be on edge today.
