Your POV

My eyes fluttered open. My head was still pounding, but I could manage. I was in my room back on the Argo II. I sat up as the door opened.

"Oh thank gods!" Leo rushed over to me and wrapped me in a tight hug. "I'm so so so so sorry, (y/n)." I returned the hug as he sobbed into my shoulder.

"Leo," I said, "what happened? How long was I out? And what happened to you?" I referred to his slicked back hair and writings on his arm that said "hot stuff" and "team Leo" and whatnot.

Leo scratched the back of his neck. He managed a smile, though his cheeks were still stained with tears. "Hazel and I went out to get some celestial bronze for repairs. You know Hazel and Frank when your brother introduced us, right?" I nodded.

"Well," he continued, "the celestial bronze was at the bottom of the pond, and Narcissus was staring at his reflection on it."

"But he's dead," I said.

"He's one of those that escaped through the Doors of Death," he said. "Anyway, there was this crowd of nymphs flocking after him, so we needed a distraction so Hazel can snatch the celestial bronze without angry nymphs running after us. We just got back. You've been out for most of the afternoon. Jason's still unconscious but he's stable."

"Jason's out, too?" I asked. "Who else is unconscious?"

"Just him now," he said. Tears started forming in his eyes again. "Listen, Guppy, I'm really sorry about what happened. I promise I'll tell you but I gotta make repairs now so we can get this ship afloat. The Romans are on our tail. Everyone else is in the mess hall except for Piper and Jason. You should go meet them."

I got up and nodded. I kissed him good luck. "I love you," I said. He turned away from me and walked out the door.

"I love you too," he muttered, not looking at me. What was going on?

I made my way into the mess hall where everyone was sitting. Percy and Annabeth sat across each other. Beside Percy were the two new Romans.

"Hey," I said. They looked at me cautiously. I sat beside Annabeth, in front of Frank. "What happened?"

Percy was trying to hide the fact that he was pissed. I could tell it from his face.

"Leo fired on the Roman camp," Annabeth said. She had a worried look, but I could tell she wasn't mad.

I looked at her surprised. "Leo would never..."

"He said it was an accident," Annabeth said. "Like there was this cold feeling inside of him that made him want to do it. I saw him loading the ballistae but his eyes were... lifeless."

I shuddered. "A cold feeling..." I said. At this point, I was scared. I'm on my third quest to save the world. I've seen things that could haunt any regular mortal. But now, this feeling... This was something else.

"What's wrong?" Frank asked. Bless him.

"I felt that, too," I said. "Not the impulse to blow up New Rome. I mean, that cold feeling... I felt it this morning. I thought I was just nervous but then it went away. I felt it again just as... you know, the explosion happened."

Annabeth looked at me terrified. When Annabeth was terrified, I knew it was bad. Really bad. "I felt that, too," she said. Percy didn't seem pissed anymore, although he seemed very worried. Frank and Hazel looked scared. I felt bad for them. They seemed really young. They were just a bit younger than me but I've already seen so much. I didn't know how well they were taking this. I tried to calm myself down so I can't cause anymore panic for my crew mates.
