Leo's POV

Sunday. This is it. Today was the day.

I was walking to the Poseidon cabin from the bunker. In my pocket, I had (y/n)'s promise ring that I enhanced for her protection. We spent the past few days together, even sneaking out at camp one night. Some othe
r nights... well, your imagination can tell you where we were. These past few days were some of the best days of my life since I lost my mom. Finally, we were just normal teenagers in love. I felt like I could live in those moments forever.

And then, today came. (Y/n) was leaving for NYC today. I still didn't like the fact that she's moving away for a job just when we got back from our big quest. I knew she was leaving for school eventually, but I thought we'd at least have a month to be with each other, not a week.

Every step to the Poseidon cabin cemented the reality of her leaving today. My heart felt heavier the closer I got to her doorstep. Sooner than I'd like, I finally reached the Cabin 3 door. I could hear her and Percy's muffled conversation inside.

"You're really not coming back for my birthday?" I heard Percy ask. "It's just this Tuesday."

"I really don't know, Percy," (y/n) replied. "But, I will try my best to visit next Sunday."

"I'm gonna miss you," Percy said sadly. "I've been gone for six months and we've basically spent our entire time on the stupid quest."

"Ohh, you can come visit me anytime. I'll be in Manhattan all the time. And if I'm not, Brooklyn House is just across the Brooklyn bridge."

"Hey," said a voice behind me. I jumped and spun around so fast, I almost dropped (y/n)'s ring. Annabeth was looking at me intently. "You alright?"

"Yeah," I said as I calmed myself down. Annabeth and I headed in the cabin, cutting the Poseidon kids' conversation short.

"Looks like your boyfriend's here," Percy said to (y/n), who was busy shoving things into her suitcase. (Y/n) looked up with a small smile. Her cheeks flushed slightly at the word boyfriend. It's times like this when she acts like a fragile cinnamon roll that I forget she saved the world at least three times, survived Tartarus, died just so she could piss off her stepdad, and came back to life.

Percy got up and walked towards Annabeth. He gave her a small kiss on her cheek, causing them both to blush. Sometimes I forget these big-shot heroes of camp are still human.

The two demigods exited the cabin, leaving me and (y/n) alone.

"You think they're gonna make out beside the lake again?" I joked hoping to hide the fact that I was choking back tears.

(Y/n) may have sensed my sadness, because she looked at me intently. She held out her arms and made grabby hand gestures. I moved towards her and she hugged me like there was no tomorrow. Well, it did feel that way. What was the point of tomorrow if tomorrow didn't have her?

She softly sung Fall by Ben&Ben as we swayed side to side. I buried my face deeper into the crook of her neck. A few tears rolled down my cheeks. We lay down on her bed, still holding on to each other.
