JUST A QUICK CHAPTER HEHI

It's June 12, which means PHILIPPINE INDEPENCE DAY!!! YAY

This one goes out to all my fellow Filipinos!

• • •

- waking up in your cabin and having as much hype as Americans do on 4th of July

- going full blast Filipino with filipiñana crop tops (they're really pretty)

- your friends face palming as you sing OPM songs

- Leo finds it adorable when you speak Filipino

- him loving when you speak Filipino because of some language similarities with Spanish

- Filipinos are basically Asian Latinos with a dollop of Pacific Islander, so with Leo being Latino, you guys get along pretty well, making your relationship stronger

- you rambling about Philippine history with Leo (and sometimes with Annabeth and Jason)

- you get so passionate about history and Leo loves how your eyes sparkle

- he loves how even though you live in the US, you never forget your Filipino roots and heritage

- you make Leo try Filipino food

- he loves them, of course

- ESPECIALLY taho and halo-halo

- Leo making plans with you for a vacation in the Philippines

- Leo surprising you with a fireworks date, just the two of you, that he set up on the far end of camp

- telling stories about Filipino myths and epics to the seven, Will, Nico, Reyna, and anyone else who would listen

- teaching OPM songs to the Apollo cabin. Once you tell them what the words mean, they instantly fall in love with OPM

- them asking you to teach them Filipino so they can sing more OPM songs

- yelling "PISTING YAWA" because why not (pisti or peste means pest, yawa means the devil; it's a curse word in Bisaya)

- yelling PUTA and PUÑETA which Leo loves to here you say because it feels like you're speaking Spanish, which is partly true

- teaching your friends Filipino because why not

- like every other caring Filipino, you tell them putangina means beautiful

- if a Filipino tells you this, trust me, it doesn't mean that

- telling stories about life in the Philippines

- telling them about the wonderful tourist attractions and planning a vacation their with your friends

- telling them how the original Philippine Independence Day was also July 4, when the Americans left the country, but was moved back to June 12, when the Spaniards left

- therefore, you celebrate 4th of July with them, but for a totally different reason and in a different way

- telling stories about the Filipino bayani (heroes)

- ALMOST FORGOT!!! Filipinos LOVE karaoke and well, let's just say it was one hell of a campfire night

- just having an amazing June 12 in Camp Half-Blood, and soon enough, having the entire camp celebrate June 12 with you and other Filipino demigods (don't @ me you know they should exist)
