We all were drawing our power symbols as Ji watched us carefully. "There is more to being a power ranger than mastering a sword. You must also learn to use your inherited samurai symbols." Ji explained. Just then, Jayden finished his fire symbol as the symbol and his paintbrush caught fire. "Aha, fire symbol." Jayden blew out his paintbrush and gave a cocky smirk.

Then Kevin finished drawing his symbol. "Yes, water." Ji encouraged. The symbol splashed a significant amount of water on him.

After that Emily finished her earth symbol. "Good, earth symbol." A big rock then formed and dropped on Kevin's foot. He groaned in pain as Emily tried to see if he was okay. Mentor and I chuckled at their antics.

Mia then completed her wind symbol. "Ah, the symbol for wind." Then a big gust of wind formed from the paper.

Finally I completed my symbol. "Great, the forest symbol." A massive amount of leaves formed from the symbol and fluttered around me. I chuckled a little.

"Wow, Allison. That was amazing you must have a lot of symbol power." Kevin said astonished.

"I've always been great with symbol power since I was a little kid." I replied.

"She used to be able to summon hundreds of leaves in different forms as a child. Or so her grandmother told me." Ji continued.

"Yeah, one time she covered me in leaves and it took forever to find me." Jayden chuckled.

"Sorry about that." I apologized.

"Never apologize for being good, Allison." Ji assured me.

"Hey anyone want lunch?" I questioned the group. "Of course if that's okay with you, Ji."

"No problem. Go, but come back ready to train." We all nodded as everyone except Jayden and Mentor went inside to get ready.

"Jayden? You coming?" I asked.

"Not this time, Ally. Maybe next time." I blushed at the nickname. That was something I hadn't heard in years. Stop it, Allison. No more of this nonsense.

"Ally?" Kevin questioned with amusement in his voice. Everyone had a sly smirk on their faces. "What's that mean?"

"Shut it and go." I said sternly as I pushed everyone inside. I turned around before going inside to give Jayden a stern look. He raised his eyebrow playfully and I did it right back, but more seriously. He chuckled a little before I turned back around to go inside.

I watched Kevin train again like he usually did. I watched with amusement as he reminded me a little of myself when I was first training. So much dedication and seriousness, but it took me a long time to realize you needed a balance if fun and seriousness. I slurped loudly on the milkshake I had gotten not too long ago. Kevin glanced at me, unamused, and then returned to hitting the punching bag.

"Hey, Kev? Do you ever take a break?" I asked genuinely curious.

"Every second that you're not training is a second wasted." Kevin replied. Untrue.

"Hey, don't blow a gasket. You know you could ease up sometimes. Samurai need balance. Took me a while to figure it out, but it's true."

"Yeah, well, I'm not you."

"You think I don't know that?" I resumed my slurping just to bother him. It was so much fun to mess with Kevin. "All right, Kev. Let's see if your practice makes perfect." I put my empty cup down and got ready to spar. I faked him out a couple times before he started swinging. I dodged his hit and he dodged mine too. Finally I hit him in the side before I flipped him over my head. He landed with an audible thud right on his back.
