Allison's POV

We all trained outside together with our practice swords. I was trying out different combinations including flips and acrobatic moves.

"Emily." I heard Jayden say. "Your technique is decent, but you need to step it up a bit. Your reflexes are a little slow."

"I'm sorry." Emily replied.

"Don't be sorry. Just practice. Here, watch me and Allison." I suddenly sensed a sword aiming for my head. I ducked before he could hit me and I spun to face him. We fought for a solid 2 minutes combining flips and acrobatic moves to avoid our hits. Eventually we clashed swords and became so close, I felt Jayden's breath on my face. I pushed him back with my sword, but he swiftly placed his sword against the small of my back, pulling me against him. "I win." He said with a smirk. My face felt like a blazing inferno, I was blushing so hard.

"Well fought, you two." Mentor said.

"See, Emily take notes from Allison." My eyes followed Jayden as he walked away from me. Once I finally snapped out of my trance I began to speak.

"Yeah, Em. I'm happy to help whenever. Hey, Kevin, spar with me." We began to spar and it wasn't too long until I nipped him in the but with my sword, literally. Suddenly his belt came undone from the force and his pants slipped down. Everyone got a good laugh out of that. I met Jayden's eyes from across the courtyard and instantly stopped laughing. He had this jealous look that made shivers crawl down my spine. Finally he walked back to where he was originally practicing.

I was sitting on my bead, playing with my zord when I heard a knock at the door. "Come in." Just then Jayden poked his head in. "Jayden!" I said in surprise. My zord chirped as if telling me "uh oh." "Shut it." I hissed quietly at my zord as it folded back into its box shape. Jayden chuckled at me. "W-what's up."

"Just wanted to see you." He said as he shut the door.

"Y-you see me e-everyday." I stammered nervously. Why did he make me so nervous today?

"Well, yeah. But that's with the others. I never get to see you when it's just us anymore. Also, I wanted to talk to you."

"Okay... so... talk." He walked towards my bed and sat down next to me. I shifted all the way until I was against the headboard, as far away from him as possible. Ever since Mentor and I talked, I was trying hard to distance myself from Jayden. Not only did I want to protect him and the goal we all shared, but I couldn't help, but feel guilty. We had a secret and if anyone found out, it could jeopardize both our ranger positions.

"It's about us."

"What about us?"

"What is this, Allison? What are we?"

"We're friends. We're associates. We're colleagues. Nothing more."

"It doesn't seem like nothing more. Especially after... you know. And I don't want to be just friends, Allison. You know that. And I don't think you want to be just friends too."

"It doesn't matter what we want, Jayden. It matters what we need. What the team needs."

"If we dated it wouldn't be a problem. It's not like we're revealing our identities to people that don't know."

"Jayden!"

"What?!"

I exhaled in frustration before continuing. "It'll be too much of a distraction. We won't be focused 100%."

"We will. I'll make sure of it. I just want to be with you, Allison."

"This is not you, Jayden." He swiftly moved closer to me.
