"The gap sensor has detected some odd paranormal activity on this obscure island, but no actual nighlok attack. I tried to call in, but communication has been cut off. We can't reach anyone." Mentor explained as we examined the map in the common room.

"We'll go and check it out." Jayden said. We all walked out and traveled to the island.

We stepped off the boat onto the island, but it was empty. No one in sight. "Where did all the people go?" Emily asked.

"That's what we have to find out." Jayden replied. "We better split up into teams."

"All right, let's go, Jay." I said beginning to walk." Mia went with Antonio and Kevin went with Emily.

As we continued to walk I noticed people watching us from a distance. As soon as we glanced at them, they darted away. "Look, Jayden. Everyone seems like they're hiding from something. They're scared."

"Something is definitely not right here." A few minutes later, we both got a call on our samuraizer from Kevin that connected us with the whole team.

"Qué pasa?" Antonio asked.

"Some ash rain down from the sky and when it landed on the people, they all got super scared." Kevin explained. "The ash is coming from the mountain.

"All right. Let's regroup at the base of the mountain and come up with a plan." Jayden said.

"Okay. We're on our way." Jayden an I hung up and began to make out way toward the mountain.

"I hope the others get here soon." I said.

"We've got our own problems to worry about. Deker." I looked over at where Jay was staring and saw Deker walking toward us. "Just what are you doing here?"

"Again I meet you as a sword for hire. Soon my sword, Uramasa, will be made whole again. But in the meantime, I can battle you with this... at least for now." He morphed into his nighlok state and Jay and I morphed into our ranger suits.

We began to fight Deker and we put up a decent fight. Until Deker stopped finding me amusing. "You're in my way." He slashed me and I tumbled to the ground.

"Allison!" I looked up and Jayden has blocked another one of Deker's attacks on me. Jay kicked Deker back, talking while doing so. "Don't touch her. Ever." Deker had Jayden kneeling and tried to get him to break.

"You rely on teammates to fight your battles now? Especially your girlfriend? Have you become that weak, red ranger?"

"What?" They continued to fight, but I came in and attacked Deker again. He knocked me over again, indicating that he wanted just Jayden.

"The lone warrior is the strongest. You've lost your edge." Then he slashed Jayden twice, causing him to demorph and groan in pain.

"Jayden!" I yelled. I demorphed and ran toward him.

"Pathetic. You're not worth fighting anymore... not when you're like this." Jayden tried to get up, but I held him still.

"Hold still."

We eventually got to a building and I tried calling Mentor for help. "Hello? Hello?" No answer on the other line. "I can't reach Mentor. The nighlok's ash must be cutting of all communications from the entire island." Jayden didn't seem like he was listening. He looked deep in thought. "Jayden. Jayden?" I walked over to him and put a hand on his shoulder. "You okay?" He looked at me briefly with He just turned away from me. I shook my head and sat next to him. "Stop worrying. It's a bump in the road. You'll be back in no time."
