Test Of The Leader

We all morphed on our way out the gate and ran to the plaza to fight the nighlok. There were giant moogers and regular ones so the guys and I took care of the giant ones while the girls fought on the ground. We all used our new zords rather than our foldingzords.

"Kevin! We got giant moogers dead ahead." I warned.

"Yeah, you thinking what I'm thinking?"

"Let's team up. You ready, Jay?"

"Always." He wrote the combination symbol and we formed the samurai battlewing.

"Samurai battlewing! We are united!" We took out all the moogers with ease before returning to the ground to help the girls. There were so many moogers, I was surprised that they were taking them out alone.

"Man, are we glad to see you guys!" Emily said with relief.

"There's a whole lot of ugly here." I said.

"Then let's change that." We all used our spin swords to take them out, but more kept coming.

"What? There's more?!" I yelled.

"Ugh. They're like roaches." Mia said. We all tried to fight as many as we could, but they kept coming.

"Ugh. You moogers just don't quit." I said. Suddenly the mooger I was fighting changed his focus and pushed me down. They all started to walk away from me and towards Jayden. "Hey! What gives?" As I stood up I heard an all too familiar voice. One I heard in my nightmares.

"Red ranger. Red ranger." The voice continued to chant.

"They want Jayden! That weird voice is putting those moogers in a trance. It's creeping me out, but we have to circle up and protect Jayden. There's too many to take on alone." We all circled up around Jayden as the voice continued to chant.

Jayden grabbed Emily's sword from her and stuck both their swords in the ground. She hid behind us and Jayden put a new disk onto hers. He spun both disks and used a blazing storm combination to take out all the moogers.

"Red ranger, you're in danger." The voice said before laughing maniacally. Jayden put his word back before demorphing as he walked toward the gap.

"Someone please tell me what that voice was." Mia begged.

"I've never heard anything so evil." Emily said.

"Do you think that was Master Xandred, Jayden?" I asked.

"No doubt."

"Master Xandred? As in the lord of the nighloks? You think he's back?" Kevin questioned.

"Okay, but why would he be calling out 'red ranger, red ranger?' Why just you?" I asked. Jayden didn't answer me. "Jayden... what's happening?"

"Why were the moogers only after Jayden?" Kevin asked Ji. He didn't acknowledge Kevin.

"Jayden, Master Xandred must know." Ji and Jayden looked at each other.

"Know what?" I asked. They didn't respond. "Know what, Ji?" I asked more forcefully.

"There is a secret symbol that can create a seal. The previous red ranger used it to imprison Master Xandred. When Master Xandred last attacked us, it was a surprise. And we were nearly defeated. Only Jayden's father and Allison's father were killed. That symbol is how Jayden's father was able to seal Xandred away last time."

"So that means it's up to Jayden now?"

"Yes, only members of the red ranger Shiba family can use the seal."
