Jayden and Antonio sent me to get the girls and bring them to the common room for an important meeting. I walked into the kitchen and saw Mia and Emily standing there. "Guys, we're all meeting in the common room. It's important." I walked back with them and sat.

"Guys... I'm gonna fight Deker." Jayden said. Everyone looked surprised, but me. "I need to stop him."

"It's crazy to do this. Take on Deker and do it alone?" Kevin said.

"Deker insists that's how it has to be." Antonio said.

"You can't do this. A samurai only fights battles that are necessary."

"This is necessary." Jayden argued. "If I don't go, Deker threatened to kill Allison and hurt innocent people."

"He what?" I asked.

"I shouldn't have said that." My breathing started to speed as well as my heart rate.

"Ok, fine. We'll handle him just like any other nighlok. As a team." Kevin said.

"Kevin you don't get it. If I'm not alone, it won't satisfy him."

"Since when do we let a nighlok dictate how we battle?!" Kevin yelled.

"Deker won't stop until Jayden duels him. We have to let him go." I said.

"You're just saying that so you don't get hurt!"

"Don't talk to her like that!" Jayden yelled.

"Stop!" I screamed getting their attention.

"Jayden isn't just our leader. He's the only one who has the sealing power. Jayden, you're the key to stopping the nighlok." Kevin said.

"Kev's right. You shouldn't risk it." Emily said.

"This discussion is over." Jayden said then stormed off. I couldn't believe Deker threatened to kill me. There was still a shred if me that wanted to stop Jayden from dueling him. But he was manipulating Jayden. Unfortunately it worked.

I walked into the practice area later that night and saw Jayden practicing. "Jayden. You sure you want to go through with this?"

"I have to. To protect you and all the innocent people Deker could harm. I could use some practice with you. I've got some special moves I want to try out." I turned to him and smiled. I grabbed a practice sword and we began to spar. The fight was difficult because Jayden was so good, but I kept my ground. I don't even remember how long we fought. Finally, after what felt like forever, Jayden got me.

"That good enough practice for you?" I asked.

"That's the longest I've ever seen you fight, Ally." He reached out a hand to help me up. I took it and stood.

"Yeah well, I learned from the best." He smiled at me before kissing me. It was long and passion filled.

"Allison..."

"What, Jayden?"

"I love you." I sighed disappointedly before answering.

"Why are you saying that?"

"Why do you question when I say 'I love you?'"

"Because usually, under circumstances like this, 'I love you' means you think you won't be back to say it again. And I can't accept the fact that I may not see you again."

"Allison, Deker is extremely skilled. I really may not make it back. I need to hear it again before I leave." I paused for a good minute before responding hesitantly.
