Team Spirit

We were in one of the practice rooms, setting up for Emily's surprise birthday party. Kevin poked his head out when he heard Emily searching. He closed the door when he realized the cost was clear. "This is going to be tough to pull off."

"Have a little faith, Kev. Once we get this stuff ready, All we have to do is hide it." Mia explained.

"Tomorrow's going to be great." I said excitedly. Em was like my little sister. I would do anything to protect her, especially considering I have no siblings of my own. "It's Emily's first birthday without her sister, but it's so cool we're doing this for her." Suddenly a knock came from the door and we all turned, nervously. Jayden poked his head in. Kevin and Mia sighed. "You should've seen your faces. It looked like Xandred was at the door."

"Ha ha. We just didn't want Emily to find us." Kevin replied.

"Don't worry she's outside. What about the cake?" Jayden asked.

"I've got all the ingredients for an awesome cake. I just need to bake it without her noticing." Mia said.

"No!" We all screamed quickly.

"I mean, we don't want to risk it." Kevin covered. "Antonio already ordered the cake from the bakery."

"Oh, okay."

"Actually Mia I wanted to talk to you about something." I said and pulled her aside.

"What's up?"

I have been thinking about this for a while. If anything happens to me, I want you to use the beetle disk."

"Allison, thank you, but nothing is going to happen to you."

"You don't know that. I like to take precaution. That's why I want to tell you. I believe your symbol power and control is strong enough to use the disk. I just want to make sure that someone will be able to take over if I'm too hurt to fight."

"Allison, I can't—"

"You can. I trust you, Mia. You know I love Em, but she isn't as strong as you. Please accept." She sighed before nodding.

"I will. Thank you."

"No. Thank you."

We ran up to the scene of the attack where the nighlok was chasing humans. Kevin shot his hydro bow. "Snack time is over for you, nighlok." Jayden said.

"The samurai rangers?"

"You're done!" Antonio said as he and Mia charged him.

"Body swarm!" The nighlok did his attack and turned into a bunch of balls which swarmed Mia and Antonio.

"It's like dodgeball with teeth." Mia said. The nighlok came after the rest of us. He hit Jayden and Kevin first, then knocked Emily down.

"You'll make a fine dessert." He said going to take Emily's spirit.

"Emily, no!" I screamed and pushed her out of the way. The nighlok took my spirit instead and I saw it leave my body before I passed out.

Jayden's POV

"Wait, no! Allison!" I heard Emily scream. I looked over to see Allison having her spirit stolen by the nighlok. Emily ran over to her. "Allison!" Kevin and I screamed.

"What did you do to her?!" I screamed, attacking the nighlok.

"Allison? Allison, are you okay? Why did you do that?!" Emily said. I could hear her choking up.

"Her spirit was delicious, and in 24 hours, it'll be mine forever."

"Huh?" Mia said.

"What?" Antonio asked.
