I was laying in bed with Jayden who was dead asleep. I couldn't sleep because I was too worried about him. The fact that Deker kidnapped him and wanted to duel him must've had some effect on Jay. I rested my head on his chest and his heartbeat was steady.
I started to drift off to the sound of his heartbeat when it started to pick up speed. I saw Jayden faces start to look scared and shake back an forth. "No. No. Stop!" He screamed. I placed one hand on his cheek and one on his forehead, trying to calm him down.
"Jayden. You're dreaming. You're okay." He still continued his cries. He jolted up, panting and frightening me. I placed a hand on his shoulder and another on his bicep. "Hey. You're okay, Jay. You're okay." He looked at me, scared, before nodding and laying back down.
"I love you."
"I love you too." I tried to sleep, but I couldn't help thinking that there may be something wrong with Jayden.

Everyone except Mia was here for practice and Antonio was god knows where. Em, Kev, and I were hitting the practice dummies while Jayden was just practicing some moves. Suddenly I saw Jayden freeze. "Babe. Babe, you just stopped. It was like you were a million miles away. You okay?"
"It's nothing."
"I think being kidnapped by Deker has really gotten to you." Kevin said.
"You can talk to us, Jayden. We're here for you." Emily said. I walked toward Jayden and out a hand on his shoulder. He didn't even acknowledge me. Just then, Mia came out of the house not dressed in practice gear.
"Have you finally decided to join us for practice?" Kevin asked.
"Oh, no. I told Mentor I'm cooking dinner tonight." Oh hell.
"Oh, no. I mean, what's the special occasion?"
"Allison, you were working so hard to program the black box and I thought I could make something special to help get your symbol power back up."
"Thanks Mia." I said politely.
"Hope you're hungry." Mia left quickly to go to the store and Jayden walked back into the house.
"Poor Jay. He doesn't deserve to be poisoned twice." I said. Emily hit me.
"Be nice."
"I'm gonna go talk to him." I followed Jayden inside. I quickly caught up to him and stopped him. "Jayden!" He turned to me with angry look.
"What?" He asked coldly.
"Are you sure you're okay? I mean, you had a nightmare last night and you just stopped in practice. There's something wrong."
"I'm fine."
"Jayden, don't lie to me. I hate being lied to." He bit his lip like he was debating on telling me. He sighed before explaining to me what was going on.
"Fine, I'm not okay. I keep thinking about what Deker told me about our duel. He said he has no choice, but to fight me and I don't know what he'll do if I don't. And in my nightmare you got in the way of our fight and he killed you. So that's why I'm not okay. I can't help, but worry what Deker will do, especially because he knows how important you are to me. There. You happy now?" A tear shed from his eye and I felt so bad for asking.
"Jayden, I'm so sorry. Is there anything I can do to help you?"
"No, there's nothing you can do. That's the problem. I can't stop this. Rangers don't fight just to fight. But something's telling me this isn't just a fight."
