Kevin and I were outside and while Kevin was practicing, I was eating an apple. Then I got an idea. "Hey, Kev. Bet I can beat you with one arm." Kevin and I had grown close, but we still competed every now and then. We started to spar and I beat him with a little difficulty considering Kevin was very good and I only had one arm, but I was still better. "I win." I said taking a bite of my apple.

"How do you do that?"

"Do what?"

"You're technique is more flawed, yet you always come out on top."

"That's because I know how to outwit my opponent. It's not necessarily about how pretty your attacks are or how good they look compared to traditional technique. It's about knowing your opponent and what moves you need to defeat them. Plus you're technique is incredible, if I didn't use my wits you would take me out."

"What that a compliment?"

"Me? Compliment you? Ha. In your dreams."

"If you two worked together as well as you compete against each other, you'd each be twice as strong." Jayden said. The gap sensor went off and Jayden ran back inside.

We ran to the scene and spotted the nighlok. Kevin blasted him with his hydro bow and he turned. "You're the one who should run." Jayden said.

"You know, there's explosions and misery. Such a nice day. Then you show up to wreck it. But I, Epoxar, will wreck you instead."

"Come on, Allison." Kevin said urging me to fight with him.

"Right." We flipped over the team and slashed at the nighlok. He knocked us down, but we got back up. I helped Kevin up and grabbed his arm. "Together we'll shut you down."

"Together? What a good idea." The nighlok said. He shot us with something that made wrist stick together.

"What is this? Get it off!" We tried to pry it off, but we had no luck.

"We're stuck!" The nighlok glued our other wrists too and we struggled against each other. The nighlok revealed that if we didn't defeat him, we'd be stuck forever.

Antonio came in a forced the nighlok to return to the netherworld. Kevin and I fell to the floor in defeat. We struggled to stand up again, but managed to. "Did you hear what he said? Unless we defeat him, I think we'll be stuck like this forever." I said.

"Forever?" Kevin asked.

Kevin and I sat down in the common room while Jayden pulled out his sword. "Ready guys?" He asked. He was going to try and cut the glue off. Kevin swallowed nervously. I was nervous, but I didn't show it.

"Go for it, Jay. We're ready as we'll ever be." Jayden hit the glue, but it sent him backwards. I sighed in defeat along with Kevin.

"I'm sorry, guys." Kevin said apologetically. Emily ran over to us and kneeled beside us.

"It wasn't your fault. You guys didn't do anything wrong." Em assured.

"We let that nighlok get away."

"And we could be like this forever." I added.

"We'll fix this as soon as the nighlok comes back." Mia said.

"And what if he doesn't? Then what? We all know Jayden's not gonna marry me and Kevin."

"Well—" Kevin began.

"Don't start with me."

"Don't worry, Ally. He'll come back. They always do." Jayden said.

"And when he does, you two will be in no condition to face him." Ji said.
