Jayden's POV

I walked along the street pondering my decision to leave the team. To leave Allison. What happened to the other rangers is exactly what I wanted to avoid. They're willing to give up everything to protect me and my power to seal Master Xandred away. If only they knew. I can't ever let the team risk their lives again. Once I defeat Xandred, I'll return, but until then I can't take that chance.

Allison's POV

Mentor and I had decided to try and hide our feelings about Jayden from the team. It most likely won't work, but we had to try and stay positive.

We walked into the medical room with big smiles on our faces. "Hello, everyone! Good morning, Emily. Have you finished breakfast?" Ji said with a sunny disposition.

"You can cut the excitement. We know Jayden's gone." Mia said. My smile quickly faded and I returned to my glum state.

"Don't worry. He'll be back. The rest of us just need to focus on the mission."

"Why doesn't Allison go and bring him back? She was always able to change his mind." Kevin said.

"Allison needs to stay and train like the rest of you."

"Plus, Jayden won't listen to me. At least not about this. Some things are able to be persuaded, but putting others at risk is something he won't negotiate." I explained. Ji nodded before heading out again.

"Well, it's good to see that you guys are feeling better." I told Kevin and Emily. I walked outside where Mia was sitting on the bench. "You know, I was so upset when my mom was killed just because she was with my dad. My dad felt so guilty, like it was all his fault. That's exactly how Jayden's feeling now."

"I know. Imagine how you would feel if the whole world's fate was in your hands."

Jayden's POV

I was sitting on a bench overlooking the beach when I heard someone crying behind me. I looked back at the park and saw a little kid crying on the bench, all alone. He couldn't have been more than 6 or 7. I walked over to him and crouched down. "What's wrong, buddy."

"My daddy went away for a job, and I miss him." He choked out.

"Yeah, I know how you feel. I miss my dad too."

Flashback

"One day the responsibility of being the red ranger will fall to you." My dad said as he handed me my foldingzord. "Remember, protect the world from evil, stand by your allies, and never run from a battle."

"Are you okay?" The boy asked me as I came out of my head.

"Yeah." I smiled and sat next to him on the bench. "You wanna see a little trick?" The boy gave me a small nod. I pulled out my samuraizer and summoned a small piece of red paper. "Pretty cool, huh?" He nodded again. I folded it into a little paper airplane for the boy and sent it flying. The boy smiled as he watched it fly. As I looked at the kid, thoughts swirled in my head.

I was sitting on the steps of the Shiba house with my own son at my side. My lion zord chittered as it sat in my son's lap. I did the same paper airplane trick and his face lit up. He chased after the plane and brought it back to me. "Can you do it again, Daddy?"

I chuckled a little before answering him. "Sure thing, kiddo." I sent the plane flying again and again he chased after it.

"Guys! Lunch is ready." I turned to see Allison in the door with a huge grin on her face while watching me and our son.

"Alright. Come on, kid." I ran over to him, picked him up, and walked toward Allison. She kissed our son on the cheek and then me on the lips before we headed inside.
