"Hi," I started another day by vibrantly greeting him.
Umangat ang tingin sakin ni Zaid mula sa screen na nasa counter. Kanina, bago pa man ako makalapit ay nakita kong abala siya habang may pinipindot doon. One thing I found out about Zaid though is that he really is very much hands-on with his business. Through my entire hanging out season here in Bright Bite, I've seen him doing every kind of work himself.
He takes part in every task. Be it in cooking, encoding orders, or cleaning. He even converse with the customers most of the time and sometimes get their orders for them too. He's an all-around person indeed. Very much well-rounded.
I flashed a wide smile with my closed lips before speaking. "Busy?"
Bumaba ang mga kamay niya mula sa ginagawa habang tinitignan ako. Nilapat niya ang mga palad sa counter, making his arms flexed. My eyes can't help but stare momentarily at his masculine veins.
Pinilit kong iangat ang tingin sa mata niya. His eyes blinked peacefully.
"Good morning.." he simply said. It's amazing how his voice just never disappoints.
I just stared at him mindlessly, still caught up in the moment.
I was kind of waiting for him to answer my question of whether he's busy or not. But he didn't.
Instead, he sighed faintly.
"Take a seat first... I'll get your order," he gently said.
I gawk at him in awe before my head unconsciously nodded in a dreamy manner.
He didn't say anything else as he turned his back on me, probably to get the menu or something. I even heaved a sigh in admiration before obliging. Pumihit na rin ako para humanap ng upuan. Ang bawat hakbang ay magaan. Halos hindi ko maramdaman na nakatapak ako sa lupa.
I was waiting in anticipation for him to get back to me. I can't believe the boss is going to take my order. The boss himself. The thought didn't fail to make me feel giddy.
I feel like my eyes automatically flickered when he appeared on my sight again. What a view it is to see someone you love walk towards you.
A smile instantly plastered on my face as soon as he stopped in front of me, not really minding if smiling this much makes me look like an idiot already.
He handed me the menu. I accepted it wholeheartedly. I scanned it thoroughly with that same smile on my face. It's just impossible to remove the curve on my lips especially when I'm feeling this good.
"This one," I lively said while pointing at the meal I was referring to.
