It was 5:30 P.M and Valor finished her shower. By that time, the bathroom was full of mist and was very warm and cozy. She put on her clothes and wrapped her hair in a towel. After, she neatly brushed her hair and blow-dried it. At six the dinner bell would ring. She eagerly stepped in her closet and picked out a light blue front tied shirt.

"That'll have to do," she whispered. She normally didn't care about what she wore, however, picked out black ripped jeans and braided her hair. After a few more minutes, she sat thoughtfully in her room and waited until the dinner bell would ring.

"He's taking me out tonight," Valor reminded herself. "Pretend you're engaged, and then when the "date", no I shouldn't say date... when the situation is finished, go to bed, wake up super early, and find mom." She bit her lip. "How does he even control me? What kind of power does he even have?! If he killed mom... I WILL kill him!" Her mind began to race anxiously as she gripped the bedsheets tightly.

She glanced at the clock hanging on the wall. It was gold plated and had roman numerals, so it was as easy to read the numerals than actual numbers on an alarm clock. She had twenty minutes so she decided to try out her computer. As she opened up the lock screen, it required her fingerprint. Surprised, she hesitated before laying her index finger on the print scanner. After a few seconds, a green check came up on the screen and logged her in. Several apps were previously downloaded on the screen, and Valor decided to check out some of those, especially spending her time on an ebook app.

A bell chimed and Valor gently shut down the lid of her computer. She went to the kitchen and found Phoenix talking to a servant. His eyes sparkled like glitter once he turned around and he said, "Wow. How do you look beautiful in everything you wear?" He walked over, leaving his servant to handle his own. "In fact, you could wear anything and I'd still think you are the most beautiful girl in the world." He led her to the dining hall.

Valor stopped, her eyes wide, and face filled with embarrassment. Creepy... "Thanks," she mumbled as she took her seat. Dinner was served, as usual. This time it was steak and mashed potatoes, Phoenix's favorite. He looked deep in Valor's eyes and she squirmed uncomfortably in her seat, avoiding his gaze and chewing slowly. This is too awkward, she thought, taking a sip of sparkling water. It zinged through her tongue, giving off a sharp, razor taste.

"You don't have to act shy around me, amica mea," Phoenix grinned, raising his right eyebrow.

Her face reddened immediately, making him laugh.

Dessert arrived and it was a cherry cake filled with buttercream. After they finished, Valor wiped her face on her napkin and sighed with pleasure. She tried to wipe the smile off her face.

"Ready?" Phoenix asked her.

Valor looked at him confused. Right... "Yeah..." She put on a gleaming smile. "Let's go!" Wait... why am I smiling? What the hell?

Phoenix snapped his fingers, a sly smirk spreading across his face. A beautiful beach, with crystal clear water, was sparkling in the sun.

"Seriously! What is this place?" Valor asked, catching her breath and clasping onto the white balcony handle. Every time they'd teleport, she'd feel a little force trying to shove her forward. I'm gonna have to get used to that.

"I told you, puella, it's my home. Where we live. We don't need any names." He touched lightly on the side of her face and kissed her forehead, grinning. "Now be quiet so we can watch the sunset together."

Valor stared at the sun unexpectedly. It wasn't like an ordinary sunset; it almost made her eyes water. It was vibrant and the sky was filled with hot pink, orange, and tropical colors. It was so beautiful she didn't want it to end. She wasn't sure that this was real.
