"Where should we sit?" Valor scanned the cafetorium, lingering directly next to Tobi.

"Uh, I don't know," Tobi replied nervously, looking at the crowd of students. They swarmed the large room like bees with loud talking and yelling. Valor kept looking for an empty table until she saw the same boy with the crazy outfit staring weirdly at his friends who were motioning towards their cell phones and pointing with laughter. He then turned to face their direction and smiled with a wave. His friends then motioned her to come over.

" Oh hell no!" Valor cried backing up. "NO NO NO!"

"What?" Jered asked, his hands stuffed in his pockets.

"NOPE." Valor ran behind Tobi and cried, "I'm NOT NOT NOT sitting with HIM." Tobi swiveled in his direction, confused as two boys ran past her.

"No running!" called a teacher standing by as the boys kept sprinting.

"Ooo. Empty seat." Jered sat down at the table behind him, and Tobi and Valor followed him.

"Cool," Tobi said, rubbing the face of the table. "Nice table, huh?"

"Yep," Jered remarked, rubbing the table as well with a wide grin. "Only for the best!"

"You guys are so weird," Valor murmured.

"So," he started. "About the thing in science..." He took a seat on a blue chair and gestured for them to sit as well.

"Oh! Yes!" Tobi exclaimed, plopping down next to him. "She is a mind reader, I'm a shapeshifter. Any questions?"

"Wait what?"

"Tobi! What are you thinking?!" Valor whispered. "Not in here!"

"But I just did. And you told me to. "

"Y-yeah, you did! That's the problem!!! Not in here where everyone could hear us-"

Tobi turned into a tiny dog. She barked as everyone stared at her in shock and awe, but she was a dog in school, after all.

"OOOooooo," the kids cooed. Tobi smiled at Jered's goggling eyes.

"Tobi! Turn back into a human now!" Valor whisper-yelled, turning red from all of the gawks. She yapped energetically back at her and hopped on Jered's lap.

"Tobi asked if you want to pet her," Valor told Jered, slumping in her seat hopelessly.

"Um, sure?" Jered rubbed his hand on Tobi's fuzzy head. Tobi licked Jered's hand and spread a wide, toothy grin across her cheeks.

"Rrrrruff!" she cried with content.

"She says thanks. It felt good," Valor translated. "Now Tobi, turn back!" Jered nodded, and Tobi hopped down underneath the table and flew out as a sparrow.

"Cheep cheep!" Tobi said as she ruffled her feathers. She flew up and landed on another table. Two boys sat there and screamed.

"Bird! Bird, Bird!" they screamed. One boy ran around the table in a circle, flailing his arms around violently, while the other one tried to hit Tobi with his tray. "AAAAHH! Get it away!"

"Kill it! Kill it!" he cried, slamming his silverware on the table. Tobi's feathers scattered around the table as she dodged the poorly accurate blows to the table.

"Scree! Screeeee!" Tobi shapeshifted into a huge griffon, talons sharpened and ready for combat.

"RRR auGGHH!" she screamed, and some five kids watching fainted. The two boys trembled as Tobi growled, trying her best to scare the boys.
