Phoenix threw a large, eye-blinding fireball to the target. It immediately bounced off and spiked towards him. He caught it smoothly and spun on his feet, his luscious hair lashing out beautifully as he did a mid-air turn, and launched the ball to the next target.
The mass of flames spread onto the target and as if time itself folded back into place, the flames sucked into one another and drove back to him. The same process happening over and over again, each move different, maybe a simple turn, or a complex double twist, until he stopped, morphing the fire into nothing.
Toni, leaning back in the corner, watched him eagerly with his arms crossed and his legs resting on top each other. "My Lord," he began, "are you sure training for this battle is really necessary? I mean, you yourself, are very powerful, maybe even invincible next to her."
Phoenix stopped right after he said that which made Toni pound with a bit of fear. He stood up straight fixed his perfectly clean suit, and glanced behind at him. "Do not underestimate her, Toni," he said, scowling. He aligned his tie. "She is very strong. You don't even know. My great-grandfather was killed by a Ravian. You have no idea... how... capable... and powerful they are!"
"Yes but... surely you're even more powerful...."
Phoenix gave him a look of death itself. "Speak carefully Toni, for what you will witness soon might be the last thing you'd ever witness."
He froze. "Yes, my Lord," he bowed apologetically. "I... I apologize." But deep in his head he was thinking, what could that mean?
Phoenix withdrew one last magical, swirling ball from his hands, and pushed it into the wall. He sighed. "That is enough for today. Please prepare dinner, Toni."
"Of course, my Lord," Toni nodded. He calmly walked out of the room to the kitchen to prepare Phoenix's meal.

"Something big is gonna happen soon," Artemis sighed. "I just know it."
"And how exactly do you know that?" Tobi asked, through a mouthful of rabbit meat.
"I just... feel like it. Like I can sense it."
"What are you, a precognist?" she laughed.
"No..." He talked seriously as if the matter was important.
"Could it be..." Jered scratched his head, "the battle between Phoenix and all of us?"
"He's one powerful person," Valor nodded. "I don't think I could handle him alone anyway."
"Don't worry," Vale added quickly. "You're gonna get all the help you can get. We are gonna demolish him." He punched his fist into his hand as if he were about to beat someone. It made Valor chuckle which spread a grin on his face.
"I don't know about that, Vale," Valor tilted her head to the side. "I don't really think we should... you know..." She ran a hand across her neck.
"Kill him?" Aspen asked, astounded. "Why not? I mean... he killed your mother and basically tried to kidnap you." Artemis set down his rabbit meat and shoved him obviously. Vale scoffed.
"I just don't think it's the right thing to do," she said meaningfully.
"Oh come on, Valor," Tobi rolled her eyes. "We'll see if we kill him or not. It depends on how threatened we are. He tries to kill one of us, we're gonna kick his butt and stab a knife through his heart."
