TW still, this time much less than the previous chapter tho

14.2.2020; Laura

I woke up to an empty bed. While sitting up I stretched and looked around the room. Maihua wasn't there. Figuring she was probably in the kitchen I made my way exactly there, finding her by the window, staring at the street.

"Morning" I said while approaching her.

"Hey" she whispered back, not turning around.

"Everything alright?" I asked, placing my arms on her shoulders. She snapped out of her thoughts and smiled.

"Yea"

"Okay" I replied and looked out the window to see what she was staring at. Out infront of the house I found a police car, a policeman talking to Gaonha and Eric sitting inside the car.

"What the fuck happened?" I basically screamed, unsure if I should feel confused, happy or scared.

"I'll explain later" she replied. I nodded and looked back out. Gaonha said goodbye to the policemen and came back inside. After she closed the door she let out a deep breath and leaned against the door. She turned to us, more specifically to Maihua.

"You okay?" she asked.

"My answer won't change, even if you ask a hundred times" she replied.

"Yeah I know but I want to make sure you can get through this" she said back and made her way to us. Maihua turned to me.

"Did he try anything with you last night?" she asked. I was shocked. Why would she think that?

"What? Why?" I asked, so many questions filling my mind.

"I just need to know he didn't hurt you in any way earlier" she replied.

"He didn't. He got a glass of water and then you came downstairs" I lied, not wanting to add more trouble onto the situation.

"Okay good" she replied and gave me a quick hug.

"I can't belive I was dating a fucking rapist" Gaonha said. I flinched at the word.

"What?" I asked, scared of the answer but wanting to know anyway.

"He has a record of sexual assault. He only moved here to run from that" she explained. Memories flushed in, of the evening they did it to me. The fact that he's done this to others made me want to throw up. I didn't know how to react but to let my tears flow.

"Whoah whoah. I'm sorry I shouldn't have used the word with you, it's probably a massive trigger" Gaonha apologized, rushing to hug me.

"It's not that" I sobbed. "I was one of them"

"Oh my god" Gaonha exclaimed, tightening her grip around me. I liked it though. It was very reassuring. I glanced at Maihua. She was standing speechless next to us.

"I should have known something was wrong" she mumbled.
