I noticed Laura walk away from the table. Despite being only slightly worried I got up to follow her. She sat back down at the river. I didn't sit down this time, expecting to be called back in seconds.
"You kay?" I asked, causing her to turn around. She smiled and nodded.
"Can I tell you now?" she asked. I nodded and sat down. She thought for a few seconds before sighing.
"I wasn't sure until earlier but I fell in love again" she mumbled. My heart stopped for a moment and broke into just about a million pieces.
"Oh" was all I could get out of myself. "With who?"
She looked at me and hesitated. "With you" she whispered. I looked at her with wide eyes. I smiled wider than I have in a long time. She laughed and smiled with me. As soon as she stood still I leaned in a kissed her. But this time wasn't like any other time. It felt like it lasted for hours. I didn't want to stop, and she didn't seem to either.
As we finally parted for air, a single tear of happiness fell down my face as I realized my birthday wish came true. Well, I guess not 100% just yet but it would in just a few minutes.
"Laura" I whispered. She smiled and nodded.
"I would love to" she replied as if she read my mind. I laughed and kissed her again. This time I pulled her into my lap to deepen the kiss.
We moved away again and I couldn't be happier. I helped her off my lap. I heard quiet cheers from behind us. We turned around at the same time. All of my friends were standing in a line, clapping and cheering jokingly. All but one. Pyper.

As the night went on we all grew more and more tired and just a little drunker. Okay yeah, we drank quite a lot, but you didn't hear that. Technically pretty much all of us aren't even old enough to drink alcohol. But that's beside the point.
"Babeee" I heard from beside me. I laughed as I looked down at a drunk Laura.
"Yes, baby?" I replied and wrapped my arms around her. She giggled.
"Nothing, I just wanted attention" she continued giggling and held onto me. AP, who wasn't actually as drunk, came over to us.
"Wassup AP" I laughed. She smiled.
"I'm gonna assume you want to sleep by your girl tonight so I came to tell you I'll give up my spot in your room" she replied. I nodded.
"Thanks"
