I put my headphones in and pressed the notification. Twitch opened with my girlfriends stream playing. She wasn't actually there yet, for now soft jazz music played in the background while the filling twitch chat rolled up on the side of the screen.

"What's up chat?" her voice rung while the screen changed to a full screen facecam of her. The chat filled with hearts and other emotes similar to that.

"I honestly have no clue what to do today, we could do hardcore world, we could play with friends if anyone's online" she trailed off, her eyes stuck to her second monitor where her chat was.

"Where's Maihua? She's in the bedroom I think, knowing her she's probably watching now" I saw a soft smile creep onto her face.

"Dream smp? Are you guys sure? There was just an election which means it's gonna be chaos and I don't wanna join in not even knowing what's going on" she explained. I thought back to a few nights ago when she was talking to some friends about it.

A few months ago she met TommyInnit, WilburSoot and Technoblade through her minecraft streaming career thingy. She started talking and collabing with them a lot more after that until she eventually met a bunch of others as well, one of them being the owner of the Dream SMP, Dream. I know very creative but as far as I know they never actually properly named it anyway.

A few nights ago she was talking to these friends and Dream apparently let her on. It took some convincing but he eventually let Maddi, her best friend on as well. Maddi started streaming at about the same time as Laura, they kind of shot off together.

She was so excited but also really scared to join. She was keeping up with the streams but still felt like she wouldn't be able to fit in.

I saw her look down at her phone. Her face lit up and a smile replaced the panicked expression.

"Okay, Maddi said she'll join with me so mabye I actually will join today" she said, clicking a few times. Eventually she changed scenes to minecraft being full screen and her face cam being a small square on the side of the screen. On the actual screen though, was a server list with one named "Dream smp" already selected.

She clicked once on her other monitor and in a moment another voice rung.

"Hey babes" Maddi chirped to which Laura laughed.

"Hey babygirl, you joining?" she asked, seeming a little nervous and excited at the same time.

"Let me set up my minecraft and my stream" Maddi replied, quiet cliks heard from her side.

"I'll talk with chat in the mean time, spam me when you're done" Laura said quickly before a quick ring was heard, indicating her going on deafened.

"Alrighty, let me see who's on" she mumbled while hovering her mouse over the "3/120". "Techno, Eret and Bad. Nice, I don't know Eret yet but I know he's an amazing guy" she smiled while looking to her side monitor.

"What side am I picking? Well it's not that easy chat. I need to know where everyone stands first like what their plans are and such"

She shifted her hand to the keyboard and after a quick ring Maddi's voice was heard exclaiming "i'm ready" multiple times.

"Okay okay okay" she laughed before double clicking the server. While the loading screen took up, well the screen, she started nervously looking at the twitch chat.

"Are you nervous?" Maddi asked to which her eyes widened and she quickly replied with "no, of course not"

Maddi laughed. "Girl you have me, Techno and Bad who you know and Eret is literally amazing, wtf are you scared of?"

"I feel like I won't fit in, don't judge me I have issues" she said, saying issues in a different tone.

"I am in" she smiled while turning her character around. "You know what, after the amount of this shit I've watched, I'd really expect to know where everything is but I have no clue where to go" she laughed. Maddi's character popped up beside her.

"Heyyyy" she said dragging the y out for as long as she could while punching Maddi's character.
