Jaehyun POV
It's been a few days since I started staying at Jungwoo's place. Somehow I was able to explain to my mom that Jungwoo became sick and so it happened, that we're already dating. My mom was ecstatic about the news and happily expressed her support by giving me red roses to plant in Jungwoo's garden.
All I need was a distraction to put my plans into action, and luckily Johnny and Doyoung hyung came to the rescue. So, I pretended that I have a study session so I can go home early and prepare the garden.
It took me hours, making sure the roses are planted properly, attaching the hanging flowers and fairy lights, cleaning the patio, making sure the garden sofa is cozy and setting the right ambiance. I was so busy preparing the garden that I forgot about the food, so I ordered chicken and mozzarella sticks, prepared ramen, and brought a bottle of wine from home.
All this effort is nothing compared to my prize. His smile. His laugh. The look in his eyes. That's the expression I love. That's the expression I aim to protect.
I already acknowledged the fact that he's a god and that his family is immortals. But, the fact that I'm mortal and he is a god is complicated. How can I tell him that I'm afraid, that someday he might find being with a mortal exhausting and trivial? That someday he might leave me? That's the reason why I made up my mind to put more effort, to make more memories. So I can treasure it when the time comes. I silently thought as I sip my wine.
"So... ramen and chill?" he said while winking innocently at me, as I spewed my wine in shock.
"Where did you learned that?" I exclaimed as I wiped my mouth.
"Johnny." he calmly replied.
"Do...do you know what it means?" I asked him as I looked at him in surprise.
"Maybe..." he hinted, grinning at me. "Why are you blushing?" he added mischievously.
"Because of the wine." I lied.
"Uh-huh. I heard from Johnny that you're a heavyweight when it comes to drinking."
"Wh...what? No. I'm not." I denied as I avoided his gaze.
"Fine. Deny it all you want pretty boy. But one thing, you cannot deny is my love for you." he said as he moved towards me and sat on my lap. "I love you Jeong Jaehyun. I love the surprise."
"I love you too." I told him as I kissed his lips that tastes like wine. Our first date night as a couple was fun, we ate the food and drank the wine without a care in the world as a shooting star passed us by.
I slide my hand across the space beside me, it was empty. The absence of his presence and warmth made my heart stop for a second. I looked around and realized he's not in the bedroom so I immediately got up and went downstairs. I found him freshly showered while wearing my loose white t-shirt in front of the sink, washing the dishes we left last night. I took a deep breath and stood there for a minute, watching him as the soft morning sunlight poured through the glass door.
"Oh! Good morning hyung!" he greeted me happily when he noticed me.
"Wow! You're such a tease early in the morning!" I exclaimed, smiling sweetly as I walked towards him and hugged him from behind.
