Jaehyun POV
I feel sick and light-headed with all the sudden mind-boggling revelations happening in a span of twenty four hours. The caught-in-the-act thing, Jungwoo's pregnancy, pre-engagement, my mom's secret. I wonder what's next ? Is there any surprises yet to reveal itself? I thought as I vaguely listen to my mom and Taemin's talk about the engagement. I need air! I need to breathe! "Mom, I'll bring Jungwoo to the greenhouse. We both need some air." I told her as I took Jungwoo's hand. He has been silent all throughout the conversation with an unreadable expression. I lead him through the back door near the kitchen since this path leads directly to the greenhouse without us getting drench by the rain.
"Wow," Jungwoo exclaimed when I opened the greenhouse door, as we were invited in by the smell of jasmine while they bloom undisturbed by the raging rain outside. "They're beautiful," Jungwoo said as he crouched down on the ground and held a flower up close. He touch them gingerly as his soft and gentle hands caress each flower near him. As if awaken by his touch the flowers gave a soft glow, seeking the warmth of his fingers. I watched him silently with adoration, captivated by his gentle action.
Then, without warning I heard him sniffle for the second time today. I immediately rush beside him and realize he was crying silently, his tears making a wet pattern on a flower petal. "Babe, are you feeling sick ?" I asked out of concern as I crouched beside him. I touched his cheek and tilted his head to me so I can wipe his tear streaked face.
"No...hic." he replied as tears gathered in his eyes again.
"Then why are you crying?"
"I...I don't know. I just feel sad and...and unsure all of a sudden." he said as he looked at me with his sad puppy eyes. When he started to cry again I felt at a loss for words. Instead of saying something stupid that might sound insincere I chose to hugged him tight.
Our emotions are being tested with the revelations we learned today, and it doesn't help that he's more emotional now. I looked at the flowers as I embraced him, the flowers who hold more meaning now than before. The flowers who tied my fate with Jungwoo one way or another. Surrounded by these flowers, it finally sunk in. This is my destiny now, my fate. A destiny I'll gladly share with Jungwoo and no one else.
"Babe," I started as I lifted his face to look at me. I searched his eyes like I did under the cherry blossoms when we shared our first kiss together. "This is all new to me too, I never thought...I'll meet someone like you. You, my beloved Moon Prince. You, who turned my life 180 degrees in only a couple of weeks, who made me flustered and happy at the same time. I love you." I declared as I pulled him up to stand with me.
Without hesitation, I bent down and picked a bunch of jasmine flowers then I knelt down on one knee and looked at him. "I don't have a ring with me right now so I hope this will do. Ahem, what I'm saying is Jungwoo my Moon Prince, my destined lover, will you give me the courtesy to have your hand in marriage?" I asked nervously as I wait for his reply.
His eyes started to water again as he reached up his hand and lightly clasped his throat. "Is it a yes...or a no?" I asked uncertainly, the awkward silence is hard to bear.
"YES!" he finally cried out as he flung himself to me. I lost my balance and we toppled over on the ground. "Yes, yes, yes!" he repeated again as he kissed me with every word. The heavy feeling I felt within the last twenty-four hours has lifted when I heard his answer.
I feel I'm on cloud nine as I embrace him again, a sweet smile not leaving my lips. After a few minutes, he pushed me gently as he straighten up and extend his hand to me. He pulled me up and took the flowers from my hand while he gave me a loving smile.
