Minho POV
Immortals, humans, and animals are guided by certain rules. Rules were made to maintain the status quo, to bring order and discipline or so I thought when I was a Prince General back in my day.
I was raised as a Crown Prince, educated since childhood to uphold rules and traditions. Even when I became the first Prince General, my principle didn't change. I was ruthless and unyielding, except for one person. Taemin.
So when he told me not to react harshly after he informed me of Jungwoo's pregnancy, I kept my calm. Calm as any typhoon can be, I thought as I looked out the window. The sky outside is covered in a blanket of darkness as lightning lit the surrounding area in brilliant streaks. The trees bend and creaked, as the wind howled while Taemin, my godly husband went upstairs to checked on Jungwoo.
Our Moon Flower is no longer a bud. I remember when he was still a child, we would always go with Taeil to the nearest river at the palace. I would always catch fish with them under the moonlight, and we'll set a fire and grill the fish. Afterwards, we would walked barefoot to the everlasting meadows until we're tired. Those were the days when they were still young and I missed them. I made sure to always spend time with my children despite my consort duties. I was always there for them. Even if I catch that dear brother of mine, there is no stopping it anymore. Now, my Jungwoo will start his own family. Who said gods should grow into an adult? I thought as I sighed.
I stood up from where I've been seated for hours and walked out of the library. I saw Jeno sitting at the dining table, drinking warm milk absentmindedly while looking out in the garden.
"Jeno..." I called out to him, as I entered the kitchen. I looked at the dining table with distaste. I need to replace that table later.
"Father..." he started as he stood up. I gestured him to sit again as I checked the fridge for ingredients.
"Father, is it true?" he asked cautiously, knowing I'm in a sensitive mood today.
"What is?" I asked as I prepare the ingredients for breakfast.
"Jungwoo...is pregnant?"
"Yes," I replied, unbothered as I continued with what I'm doing.
"So...we'll make it official right? Ascension? Wedding?" he asked inquisitively.
"Probably," I responded shortly cutting the conversation, making him looked back at the garden. I continued to prepare the breakfast silently, letting my mind focus in cooking. After an hour, I set the dishes on the table. I made kimchi fried rice, sunny side eggs, fried SPAM and sausages, chicken salad, baked sweet potatoes, and slice fruits like peaches, apricot and cantaloupe. Satisfied with the food, I asked Jeno to call the others.
"Yeobo, it looks delicious." Taemin exclaimed as he saw the food on the table. He was assisting a pale Jungwoo to seat at the table, followed by a dazed consort, and a couple of worried princelings lagging behind. We all sat around the table and begin eating without talking. The silence is deafening with only the regular rumbling of thunder and wind howling outside.
"Jungwoo, you should eat more." Taemin instructed breaking the silence as he put eggs on Jungwoo's plate.
"But I don't have any appetite. I only want to eat peaches." Jungwoo replied weakly as he pouts.
"Its for the ba..." Taemin stopped midway while looking at me warily. "Oh c'mon! What's with this vibe! Let's talk about this like civilized gods and mortal!" Taemin cried out, fed up with the silence.
"I agree," I replied firmly as I looked at them, my eyes glinting as lightning crossed the sky outside.
"Jaehyun, dear. I know you have more questions than answers. This is the best time for you to let it all out." Taemin told Jaehyun, who is silently sitting beside Jungwoo. Taeil, Jeno, and Sicheng are all ears, observing silently.
