Chapter 25 : Devil's Kiss

When I saw the commercial for the theme park in the television, I knew I want to go right away. I practically whine and throw a fit like a child to my dad just so he could permit me to go there with Jaehyun. It's quite understandable that he feel hesitant since the incident a few nights ago, but I'm pretty sure that it'll be a wonderful happy day for us or so I thought.

My expectations were met when we arrived at the theme park. It looks exactly like the one in the commercial, although there's more people around today. Jaehyun and Taeil decided for us to roam around first as we wait for Johnny and Doyoung.

Thankfully, Jaehyun as cool as he is became our tour guide around the park. It was quite funny to see him flustered as he tried to answer Taeil's questions about the rides. He really did try his best and it makes me happy to see that he's enjoying this distraction. 

For a bit, my mind replayed the scene that happened back at the bar. I was scared for a second when the men took me and brought me to the hotel. Scared not because I can't protect myself (which I can) but because of what can happen to Jaehyun and the others. I knew there's a possibility for Jaehyun to do something reckless when it comes to me, so I remained calm and assessed the situation as much as I can. I'll protect myself and my baby if I had to, despite the god's law that we can no longer directly hurt a human.

But instead of having their way with me, they presented me to Jason. Jaehyun's father was unexpectedly kind to me, he even asked if his men hurt me in any way. I said no, afraid he might do something to them if I joked that I was hurt, but the truth is I got a huge ass bruise on my left side when they forcefully threw me in the car. Something I kept secret from Jaehyun since the bruise is almost gone anyway.

Jason seems to be a good businessman as he boasts about his achievements and highlight what Jaehyun 'can inherit' when the time comes. But whatever pretense he made for himself can be seen by the likes of me, his aura is so tainted that even the God of Death might hurl once he took his soul. Somehow, I understood why Jaehyun hated his father. Even if his parents didn't separate, a relationship with a man like that will end in misfortune.

I looked admiringly at Jaehyun as he pointed out the details and explained the rollercoaster safety precautions to Taeil. I want to erase all the bad memories he ever had. I want to replace those with our happy memories, so he will no longer feel sad and unwanted. I'll make him see that he deserves this happiness, me and his child. I touched my stomach and whispered this.

"You okay, babe?" Jaehyun asked when he noticed my hand on my stomach.

"Yes, I just feel hungry." I replied back to him with a loving smile.

"Doyoung texted me they'll be here in a minute. We'll go to a restaurant right away once they're here." he answered as he let me wrapped my arm around his. 

"Ne," I replied while I gave him a wink. A few minutes passed, Doyoung and Johnny finally showed up. As promised, we went directly to a restaurant inside the park. It was after lunch, so there's only a few people eating inside. We had a delicious meal while we laughed at Johnny's jokes. 

Full of energy we stepped out of the restaurant with one mission in mind : to enjoy the rides as much as we can, and we did. It was my first time to experience the theme park rides and I can fully understand why humans think it's amusing. The feeling of adrenaline coursing through your veins, making you feel happy with the temporary thrill that the rides give you felt welcoming like a much needed diversion.

After some time, I got tired and in a need of rest. My feet and legs hurt from too much walking, and my throat feels hoarse from too much screaming and laughing. I asked Jaehyun if we can rest a bit and he agreed. We settled near the ice cream cart in front of the carousel we rode on earlier as Doyoung treated us for ice cream.
