Chapter 38 : Rainbows and Butterflies

I suddenly felt uncomfortably hot so I opened my eyes sleepily and looked around for the reason. Ah! I exclaimed internally as I remembered where I am. My gaze fell on Jaehyun, his arms wrapped around me underneath the duvet, making it hotter with our combined body heat. He has an untroubled look on his face, his handsome features clearly visible in the soft light of dawn.

It's our second day together after the whole drama that happened over ten days ago. And I couldn't be happier that we're finally back in each other's arms as we are supposed to be. I missed him, his presence, and warmth. His smell, his dimpled smile, his firm body, his silly jokes, his watchful eyes full of love and passion, just his overall being. 

With these thoughts swirling in my head I snuggled closer to him and wrapped my arm around his waist. I tucked my head under his chin like I always do and lulled myself back to sleep as I listen to his breathing. I missed this, I thought as I drifted into a wonderful dream with him in my arm again.

I woke up again when I felt something or someone is lightly shaking me. Irritated, I was about to lash out to whoever that person is from disturbing my lovely dream so I opened my eyes immediately and searched for the perpetrator. But there was none. 

I looked around the room in confusion, thinking that it might be Jaehyun playing a trick on me but there was no extra space within the room for him to hide his huge silly ass. Weird! was my initial thought when I felt the slight vibration again.

But this time, I can feel it course through within my body. It was subtle yet powerful that it woke me up from my sleep. "Jaehyun!" I yelled out with excitement. "Jaehyun!" 

A few seconds passed and I heard Jaehyun scrambling up the staircase in a hurry. He opened the bedroom door with a look of concern, he was wearing an apron while holding a kitchen tong in one hand. "What? What happened?" he immediately asked as he looked at me, now seated on the bed.

"Come here, quick!" I exclaimed without answering his question. I motioned him to come closer to me and he followed without a word.

"Feel," I ordered as I pulled his free arm, making him bend towards me before I placed his free hand on my tummy. He looked at me with a questioning gaze but then I saw his expression turned into realization when he felt the vibration under my stomach.

"The baby? Is it...moving?" he questioned.

I just nodded with a warm smile on my face as a response to his question. The vibration was longer this time as if it's welcoming the presence of its father. I closed my eyes and tuned in to the life force inside me, my entire core felt warm and full with the ball of energy pulsing energetically. 

"Peanut is restless," I murmured, still with my eyes closed.

"Why? Is something bothering Peanut? Is Peanut worried?" Jaehyun asked non-stop.

"No, Peanut is bored," I replied with a smile before opening my eyes. 

"Bored? Peanut's not coming out earlier than we expect, right?" he asked full with worry.
