I jolted awake as if someone pricked me with a needle on my side. It was sudden and painful but it swiftly went away the moment I opened my eyes. What was that? I clutched my side and groaned as I tried to pull myself in a sitting position. The TV was still on, the volume set at a minimal level. Right, I was watching Titanic before I fell asleep. I've seen this a hundred times already, but I suddenly felt the urge to watch it again. Tsk. I miss Jungwoo.
Forgetting the pain I felt earlier, I laid back down on the sofa and hugged Jungwoo's baby blue bathrobe close to me which still has his scent. My safety blanket. My jasmine, my moon flower's scent is still the same as I remembered it when he's beside me. I placed the soft bathrobe under my cheek as my eyelids became heavy, threatening to close any time when suddenly my phone rang.
I blindingly searched for it under the throw pillow, lazy to even looked for it properly. Finally, after a few seconds my hand came in contact with my phone which is still buzzing with an incoming call. Not bothering to look at the caller ID, I just pressed my finger on the green icon to answer the call.
"Wakey-wakey, Young Master." Wonho greeted with ecstatic energy on the other line.
"Hmm, what?" I groaned as I wiped away the sleepiness from my eyes. Dang it, I want to sleep more and dream about Jungwoo!
"So...you know when you asked me to look if there's any hits of your fiance in the system?" Wonho replied eagerly.
"Yeah?"
"There's something. But...as a friend, I am strongly advising you not to check it." he warned.
"Why? You were just excited awhile ago." I pointed out, my sleepiness was already gone when I heard his hesitation.
"I was excited because I did my job properly! I wasn't excited to relay this news to you in the first place. There's a big difference." he replied.
"Okay, spill it. Stop putting it off!" I urged him on, with a slight annoyance in my voice.
"No, I rather not describe it. I'll just send you the photos, but...just don't do anything stupid. I can see you, okay?" Wonho reminded me. How can I forget when the CCTVs installed inside the apartment is connected to his own personal server, to monitor any suspicious activity and to come to my aid if in any case I needed it.
"There, check your Samsung tablet." he added after a few seconds.
I pulled myself in a seating position again and reached out for my tablet which is placed on top of the coffee table. I quickly pressed the power button and anxiously bit my thumb as I wait for the tablet to turn on. Gosh, this is the longest seconds of my life. After a nerve-wracking minute, the app icons flashed in front of my eyes and without wasting another second, I searched for the file that Wonho sent to me.
The file was under the folder name 'Open at your Own risk'. Fine by me, I thought as I tapped at the folder icon. Instantly several photos popped out, some were blurry as if the subject were moving but some were clear as day. The photos were taken from different places, the mall, a restaurant, several coffee shops, even on the street. Paparazzi? P.I.? Pandora's? I don't know the answer but the gut-wrenching feeling is transparent on my face, enough for Wonho to call me out.
