After an hour of an exclusive plane ride provided by Doyoung's private jet plane, we reached Jeju before dusk. Chenle silently complained why we cannot 'celestial project' to Jeju but Jaemin reminded him that we have mortals (Johnny and Doyoung, who came just in the nick of time before we depart) with us so it's not advisable.
At the airport, we were greeted by several house staff of 'Kai and Kyungsoo' to assist us with our luggage. At least seven Rolls Royce where needed to haul us off to the mansion. It was chaotic as the 'young ones' felt the need to bicker on which car they would get into, resulting for Taeil and Nana to sort the issue themselves.
Therefore, we were separated like this : Jungwoo and I got exclusive rights to use a car for ourselves (since it's our wedding!). Taeil, Taeyong, and Chenle in one car. Yuta, Sicheng, and Nana with Jeno in the next. Johnny, Doyoung, and Haechan with Mark in another. The rest of the staff and our luggage was stored in the other cars.
"So, babe how should I address Kai and Kyungsoo? Uncle? Hyungs?" I asked out of the blue. We are seated comfortably at the back, Jungwoo was looking at the window enjoying the beautiful sunset with a small smile on his lips. So far the drive was smooth and silent with our invisible driver, who is separated by a heavily tinted glass partition in the middle, expertly maneuvering the car on the Jeju road.
"Hm? Uncle would be fine, babe. Uncle Kai is my dad's cousin." he answered back as he wrapped his arm in mine before laying his head on my shoulder.
"He is the Prince of the Sea, master of the sea creatures and teleportation. He made home here in Jeju when he met Uncle Kyungsoo in ancient times. Oh, and Uncle Kyungsoo is the son of the Earth Goddess Jishin." Jungwoo explained.
"I see, they're not like...your father, right?"
"Hahaha! No, babe. They're Tellurian Gods, the gods in between light and dark. They're neutral and unbothered, mostly they mind their own business and favor seclusion, well except for Uncle Kai that is," he answered with an amused smile.
Something in his smile made me think that I'm in for a surprise, but then again I've been dealing with surprises since I've met him so I guess there's nothing new to it. After thirty minutes of traveling via car, we finally reached the front gates of the KaiSoo Mansion. I don't know if you can still call it 'gates' because we were welcomed by enormous trees that covered the pathway with their branches, making a roof of leaves above the road.
Since the night is finally settling in, light blue and yellow lanterns that are hanging on the branches are already lit. It made the place mysterious and surreal, almost magical. After a minute, the car finally parked smoothly in front of the entrance of the mansion. I stepped out first and extended my hand to assist Jungwoo as he slowly got out of the car.
I stared at the KaiSoo mansion with an open mouth awe. I heard the other people who got out of the car exclaimed as they pointed at the mansion, they were probably astonished with the view as well. In front of us, is an Italian designed mansion or manor, whatever you want to call it.
It was beautifully designed with smooth stuccoes finished with exuberant ornamentation, big arched windows each equipped with their own balcony, high tiled reddish-brown roof and what seems like a tall tower at the back. All of the lights inside the mansion was turned on, so it looks like it's glowing from the outside. Out of all the mansions I've seen this must be the coziest and warmest I've encountered.
