DESTINED

CHAPTER 8

Nicole's POV
It's on Wednesday,my first day at work ,my first work since I graduated. I have prepared myself for the day .
By 7 I've already prepared myself ,today I decided to do with an official black  pencil skirt, I cream chiffon top well tucked in a black blazer and my black stiletto heels. My hair is tied up in a pony tail,my always hairstyle, I carry my cream hand bag , check myself on the mirror for the last before I  head out of the  room.
I shut my bedroom door and walk down the hallway to the kitchen. I had planned to prepare breakfast today ,Maya is not in the kitchen when i arrive I assume she's still preparing herself  so I place my handbag on the counter and collect  the ingredients, I take some eggs from the  egg rack to prepare fried eggs,bread and some tea. Ten minutes later ,Maya walks in looking all marvelous in her official black skirt suit. We exchange morning pleasantries and take our breakfast in silence. Once we done,we both head out to our different work places. I'm not  tensed up so I take the bus to town .
Once at the reception I'm met by Caren the receptionist.
" Morning ,I can see you got a chance to work with us it's my pleasure at least I'll get someone to go lunch with"
"Morning Mrs Caren ,Its my first day at work"
" Please call me Caren, everybody calls me that,yeah boss mentioned  about you earlier ,I'll just show you where to head from here. It's the boss's office from there he'll tell you what next"
" Ooh that's good of you Caren,I'm really tensed up to meet your boss who's soon to be my boss,like how is he and all that but I hope I'll catch up soon, so ?"
"Mr Parker's office is on the last floor, the second door just right from the elevators,you'll see CEO in bold on the door"
" Alright thanks Caren ,I guess I'll see around I should get going"
" Sure, I'll wait up for at lunch time,we should go together"
Once on the 7th floor, I spot the CEO's  Andi head straight to it, I breath in and out ,before I knock on the door,I'm welcomed by a females voice from inside and I go straight inside.
" Hi, how may I help you? A lady behind the  workstation asks
I can only see her upper body due to the desk,she's dressed up in a light green official top, braided her hair and she's in specs.
" Hi,I'm Nicole Alison,I got a call yesterday that I got hired  here and that I should report to work today" I say calmly
She goes back to her PC and types something I guess my name,
" Ooh yeah I'll just give Mr Parker a call "
"Good morning sir?"
"There's a lady here by the name Nicole Alison, she got hired yesterday,"
"Yeah HR position"
" So should I let her in"
" Alright then thank you sir"
I follow the conversation keenly once she's done she places back the phone on the desk and  turns her  attention back to me .
" Mr Parker is expecting you,just push the door and go in"
I mumble a thank you to her and head to where I've been instructed,once on the door I push the door open and I'm met by the surprise of the day.
Seated behind the desk is the guy that I hurled abuses at yesterday
Oh God I'm so fucked up,I saw his car yesterday in the park lot and I couldn't connect the dots,so he's the CEO of this company,wait he's the guy girls have been drooling over on the internet?
I've never been so keen and a fan of social media so changes of knowing my boss were less.
I realize that he's cute,well built even from the shirt he's wearing I can see his protruding muscles I wonder how he looks like without shirts on.
" Young lady did you come here to stare at me like I'm a fucking statue?"
His harsh voice snaps me  back to reality and it hits me hard.
Gosh I've been standing at the door for a whole minute just stating at my boss!🙆🙆
" I- I'm sorry sir,I was instructed to come here so you can direct me on what to do next,I'm Nicole Alison"I stutter
"You should be! It's not good to stare, and by the way do I know you from somewhere?,you look familiar"he says
" Yes, we bumped into each other yesterday" I face palm myself.
God I never knew I'll meet my boss in this situation,I don't even think I can stand anymore.
" Oooh I see, you're a tough lady Mrs Alison but anyway welcome to my company I'm Kyle Parker,the CEO,I know you've heard about me,you may have a seat"he says boldly
" God the guy never fails to brag,must he just tell me about him being famous ? I think to myself as I sit down on the couch in the office.
I take time to admire the office,it's so magnificent,the wall planner,the swivel chair,the all is painted sky blue, everything in this office screams money.
He places a call and talks to someone whom I only catch her name later , Amanda,she's one of the interviewers from yesterday.
After a few minutes walks in and greets us.
"Mrs Alison, this is Amanda she'll show you around, and your office,you'll have your own office though on the same floor, you'll have to sign up the contact later in the day you may leave.
"Okay sir thank you" I say
"Amanda is not the talkative type like Caren. Once she's done showing me around and introducing me to my colleagues,she's shows me my office.
It's the last door just across the CEO's office,after she makes I'm settled down , she leaves for her office.
To say I'm happy is an understatement,it's my first day at work,let me just say I'm lucky,I'm having my own office that's enough  for me.
I've been shown what to do so after texting Maya and informing her I'm settled to go back to work. I'm so busy and engaged on my PC that I don't even realize it's lunch time,I then remember I have a lunch meeting with Caren.
I shut down my PC and pick up my hand bag,before I can head out,there's a knock on the door , I walk to open it and Caren walks in.
She looks around awe and finally speaks.
" You have a beautiful office anyways let's get going before it's too late we have an hour only for lunch"
" Ooh yeah we should get going" I say back
"Where you going with the bag?" She raised her brows
" For lunch I guess" I answer confused
"No it's not necessary,just carry your clutch bag which is not necessary because I'm paying lunch for you" she says happily.
" You didn't have to pay for me you know " I say
" Take it as a treat or a welcome inch for you whatever suits you"
And with that we head for the elevators,the restaurant is not far from the company premises ,it's just across the road.
Once we settle down,we order for our food . As we are still waiting to be served,I spot familiar face walking in the restaurant.
